Very simple!! in all homes there is a breaker box it used to be called a fuse box like in cars of today...there are 2 banks of breakers going from top to bottom both sides. each side represents 110 volts ac. to run a line for a 220 dryer you use # 10 romex wire. the lower the number the thicker the wire. # 10 will work just fine. you need to take the box cover off and you will see a menagerie of wires these mean nothing to you. in the #10 romex you will find 3 wires. 1white 1black and 1 with no coating or bare wire this 1 will be earth ground.. if you look inside the box you wll see where it goes.. the black and white 1 goes 1 on each side. black to the left white to the right.make sure you turn off the main breaker before you put tour fingers inside the box or you will become electrocuted. and still be carefull. there could be residual voltage. use rubber gloves...do your connections and put the box front back on.. now that thatis done you are going to need a pigtail female socket and a pigtail mail plug.. both with 3 pin. go to your local hardware store or home depot and tell them that you need both male and female connectors..take them home hook them up and you are good to go.... now was that complicated? have a good 1 my freind..

    jregsr0304 missed the mark.

The question was NOT how to add a 220 breaker. The question was how to add TWO 110v breakers to make 220v.

Nice try but the question remains unanswered.

What do i have to do to plug my 110 air conditioner into where my 220 window unit

You need a step down transformer, to convert 220V to 110V. You can't just plug the 110V A/C unit in directly unless it is clearly marked as being suitable for multi-voltage supply (110V - 220V input).

Such a transformer has to be of sufficient capacity to handle the current, or wattage, that will be required. The Frigidaire unit in your question is a 3.5 kW cooling capacity, so the transformer would need to be about the same, ie for a 10A supply at least. They are quite big boxes, about $120.

You would put this in the roof or in a cupboard.

Have a 220v 3 wire circuit: red, black & green. can I use the green ground as a neutral for a 110v circuit?

I wouldnt do this just because you might have some other things being grounded inline.

Plugged 110v dishwasher into 220v

When you have a 220v outlet there are two wires that both supply 110volts, thus the 220volt rating. 110volts uses 1 wire that supply's 110 volts and the other wire is a "neutral" what is a non current carrying conductor. In other words there is no 110 volts on the second wire. Most of the time if you supply a 110 volt appliance with 220 volts you most definately fry something if not everything. Probably the main thing that blew was the control panel be it a computer board, dial switch etc. Sorry for the bad news but it might be cheaper to replace the unit than having it looked at and repaired

How to use it if we have 220V outlet?

If the AC unit is 110V then you must plug it into a regular 110V outlet. You cannot plug it into the 220V outlet. Either get a bigger 220V unit or use a 12 gauge extension cord to get it to a 110V outlet.

I have white, black and ground out of wall, i have red, black, white and ground from oven, how do i connect

Unfortunately you can't. Your wall outlet is a 110V circuit (B-110V; W- common) and your oven needs 220V circuit to operate. Red - 110V; Black - 110V; White - Common.

You will need to installed a 220V, 30 AMP (10-3/w ground) homerun from your circuit breaker panel to the oven

Stove top or oven does not work however, clock

check your 220v outlet, you could have 110v and not the needed 220v to operate the elements. If you only have 110v at the outlet the one side of the double breaker is bad

NO HEAT . I CHANGED THE HEATING ELEMENT,

Check to ensure you have 220v A/C to the dryer.
The dryer will run on 110v but will not heat.
Ck. the dryer cord where it connects to the dryer.
Some times one of the terminals on the cord may have burned up due to a bad connection.
Electric dryers are not sold with power cords since there are several different types of 220V outlets.

You may have a bad house fuse, Circuit breaker or 220V outlet.

Where is the circuit breaker or fuse on a Kenmore Gas Dryer?

no heat usually means your only getting110 volts into your dryer.....you need the full 220volts to run heaters....with voltage meter you checkwires on the plug OUTLET...or inside back cover REDwire to WHITEwire =110v.........BLACKwire to WHITEwire =110v.....REDwire to BLACKwire =220v. you probably have aBAD 220V. 30 amp circut breaker..or if still using FUSES one is burnt out (In house electric panel) or burnt off RED or BLACKwire in back of dryer.....

Plugged 4w 120v trimmer into 220v outlet with a 50-2000w 220-110v coverter - it blew fuse and doesn't work. soldering melted off wire inside

scrap the trimmer...
probablly damaged beyond cost of new one

a step down transformer would have been a better choice than a voltage converter ( not trying to be a wise guy here)..

Wiring diagram

This model of cook top needs the 4 wire install because it has both 220v and 110v circuits. The forth wire is a neutral that operates the 110v circuit. You can move the ground of the 3 wire outlet to neutral, but ONLY! if the ground wire is insulated. What this will do is give you both your 220v and 110v circuits. The problem with that is your cook top will not be grounded. The best solution is to locate a neutral wire and tap into it, this will give you your 4 wire circuit. Your missing a neutral in a 3 wire outlet.
