We purchased 3 months ago a washer Whirlpool WFW8500SR and since one month apprx. it's really noisy in spin mode. It make 3 time more noise than my old standard washer. Whirlpool send a technician to investigate the problem...He said it was ok as what are the Whirlpool standards. But off the record he told me that Whirlpool was aware of the problem ? Do you getting a lot of complains in regards to this washer. I don't think it's normal to pay that money and have somethings that make more noise than the conventional washer. Take for exemple a dishwashher ?
I fixed the problem by myslef. solution is simple and do not waste money on the technician. You will need to open the drum and grease the Drum's Springs. you can also use wD40. Do this after 5-6 months.
No way, if I were you... I will return it and have it replaced, it is still under warranty, is it? if so, then it is your right to complain and tell the problem... it is their responsibility to make things right in order for you to get satisfied with the product. Well, return the problem to them, it should not be on costumers Give it back to them before it will be too late, late as in it's broken or something... and that doesn't cover the warranty, it will be blamed on you for using it improperly. Remember: "CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT".
Happy New Year!!! ;)

I have the same problem. I have had two different technicnans from different companies to service my noise making during the spin cycle. One replaced the shocks(of course that did not fix the problem) and the other one said that is something we will have to live with.
