With a new battery it sounds like something has gone wrong with the electronics of your camera. And unless your camera is a very expensive one, given the high cost of proprietary parts and labor, it might not be cost effective to have it repaired.

Shutter won't open

Shutter motor or electronics controlling it have gone south. Expensive to repair - only cost effective if it is a very expensive camera.

Horizontal Lines during playback, not seen during recording. VERY new camera, only a few hours recording time. Tried reset button and head cleaning tape, still have problem

The sensor the takes the light and turns it into electrical bits of info has gone bad....or was bad from the start...
If the camera is very new, then return it and get a replacement of your money back... don't mess with it there is nothing you can do...

My camera's display has gone

This is a systems control board failure, if you can not bring up a menu on the screen this confirms the problem. The cost to repair will not be cost effective, it is cheaper to replace the camera than the alternative.

Lately my camera is showing horizontal lines when I take a picture that is far away. It is also very foggy looking.

The sensor electronics are failing.. Time for a new camera since the cost of repair will exceed the cost of an identical replacement.

When switched on, display reads "In synchronized monitor mode"

Cycled through display options, still couldn't get viewfinder image. Checked images already on card, and they showed OK, so screen operating properly. Went back to viewfinder mode, got lots of horizontal lines across screen. Realised I could do no more, so took camera to shop it was bought from, who checked it and said it had an electronic problem that needed professional repair facility, so camera has gone for an estimate of repair cost.

Casio ex-z75

Hello, we are in Australia and the cost of the repair is very expensive due to the part cost.

Depending exactly what Casio you have will determin weather it is a main board issue or something else (may be alot cheaper) but starting costs for main board replacments are $180 AUD upwards.

Bad news is that it is CCD sensor that seems faulty ( and only way to repair this fault is to replace the CCD block ) but the good news is that Nikon repairs this problem free of charge on this model even if your warranty has expired. Contact Nikon and have a new CCD sensor installed.

Camera won't take a picture

It could be that the shutter has gone out or the mirror is not going up they are only rated to last for so many shots. That is what canon told me when my 10d did the same thing. I dont remember what the repair cost was.
