Question about Maytag MAH2400A Front Load Washer

Open Question

Maytag mah2400 door leaking. grey rubber inner door seal looks misshapen at bottom, with no visible tears or holes. there is an odd shaped hole on bottom of the door itself, below area fits inside of grey seal when the door is closed, and there was a "callous" of hard plastic like material along the front/bottom of door (above the hole, which appears to be part of the door, but not sure) . water leaks most during rinse cycle, and comes out in small stream in 3 or 4 places- the most water comes out when the water is filling tub and rinsing. I did a small load with just two bath mats and a lot of water was on the floor after that load. a larger load resulted in less water leaking out.

SOURCE: water leaks from weap hole in bottom of the plastic housing

The Maytag's have always had problems with those front door boots leaking and not draining thus leaving a bad mildew smell. What the problem probably is is that the hose that connects to the weap hole is cracked and needs replacing. I would suggest just replacing the entire boot along with the hose. The boot is a pain to replace though, it might take a tech to get it done for you. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this information was helpful. Good luck.

SOURCE: washer leaks from bottom during rinse cycle

Take the cover off the back, and look up, next to where you put the soap in, when it's filling/rinsing. There is (like) a (white) plastic valve body, and look to see if water is dripping out of it. I haven't figured out a solution to that yet, other than to replace it.

Also check the boot, coming off the pump. You could have a bad/dry boot, or a loose hose clamp.

My Epic Z front load is leaking water . It looks like the gray rubber on the door is the cause. The machine is only 18 months old

In the front on the bottom of the gray seal is two drain holes, make sure there is not an obstruction in these drain holes such as a small sock .

Please, I want to Know, how ti change the rubber door seal? thank you.

Hello there
Disconnect all power to the machine first!!
1 Locate the outer clamp band securing the seal to the door rim on the washing machine and examine it carefully for holes or tears. Many can be prised off with a flat-bladed screwdriver they have a spring system holding them, but some have a tensioning arrangement that has to be loosened.
2 After removing the outer clamp band, locate the inner one securing the seal to the drum and establish how this is secured. It may be necessary to loosen a clip, or you may be able to prise the band off with a flat-bladed screwdriver. Some are like very large Jubilee clips that you have to undo usually from the top.
3 Once the clamp bands have been removed, use both hands to pull the seal away from the inner drum rim. Some AEG machines have a water spout holes that will have to be lined up. Others have a drain holes.
4 Rubbing a drop of washing up liquid into the groove on the AEG door seal/gasket that locates on the drum makes fitting the new seal easier.
5 Your new AEG washing machine door seal should be fitted by locating the drain holes at the bottom of the seal first then push it on with both hands working opposite directions towards the top. This is quite hard if you have never done it before.
6 Refit the inner band remembering this must be tensioned correctly for it to be water tight.
7 now fit the outer band and the test your AEG machine for any leaks,

Maytag dishwasher jet Clean EQ Plus Leaks out the bottom of the front door on the right side!!!

First, examine the gasket around the door or dishwasher front for tears or holes. If the gasket looks good, the door may have been flexed during installation or while loading / unloading. Open the door half way and try to flex counter clockwise. This should straighten out the door and allow the seal to contact properly.

Leaking water under front edge of machine?

Open the door and gently pull on the grey rubber gasket and check all around it for holes / tears. There are three tiny holes in the 'wall' at the bottom that are supposed to be there, but you should not see any other tears. I just found a large tear on mine that causes leaks when I run very large loads. I am going to try to fix it with Gorilla Tape, otherwise I will probably have to buy the whole new gasket. It seems like it would be a real pain to replace!

MY maytag washer is leaking water from bottom of machine - the repairman said there is a hole in the door - please advise!!!

Check your rubber boot connecting the tub to the machine, it will fail. If you find no hole in it and have a drain in the bottom of boot, then pull front panel to see if drain tube is broken. If thats not broken, everything else will be visible as far as drain lines etc, just look for signs of leakage.
