This is quite easy to do, when your turn on your computer you need to
hit a hotkey over and over again. The hotkey is different for each type
of laptop but the common ones are f11, f1, f2, alt+0 and f12. Once you reach the recovery screen you just need to follow the on screen prompts and you're all set WARNING: Doing this will mean that you will lose all your personal data and installed programs that are on the computer.
Yes that could be horrid. Try setting the tv as your only screen. If you go to l settings Navigate to the "Start" menu, and click it once to open it. Select "Control Panel."
Click "Adjust Screen Resolution" under "Appearance and Personalization."
Click the drop-down arrow next to "Multiple Displays" in the window that opens. Select "Show Desktop Only On 2." Windows will disable the Mini 10 display and use the external monitor as the primary screen

There are 3 mini 10 models sold by Dell. The Inspiron 1010 (Mini 10), Insprion 1012 (Mini 10) and the Insprion 1018 (Mini 10v). Depending on which model you have, you can try to connect an external monitor and see if you get a display. The 1012 and the 1018 have a 15 pin VGA plug on the left side of the laptop and the 1010 has an HDMI jack for video. If you get a display then your LCD display is bad and needs to be replaced.
You will lose all your data if you wanna set it to factory setting ,have its back up before you loose it.

you need to isolate this issue first. where are you typing? inside IE or in MSWord? If both has issues then try typing in the DOS Command Window. If same issue try to boot in safe mode and check if you will still be getting same issue in safe mode. If all yes try to check the bios and update it by downloading the latest bios version from the support site from dell.
