Question about Jenn-Air JGD8345 Gas Cooktop
Just bought house with new Jenn-Air gas cooktop (Prostyle JDG8348CDP). Even on Low setting, the downdraft fan (between burners and grill) pulls the left front and back burner flames to the side (toward the fan) so much that it is difficult to get even cooking. Should there be a shield next to the fan vent? Or some other solution (other than abandoning those two burners)?

bibman: Sounds like the control switch or possible loose wiring. Take the element out and test the slots for voltage. You should get 220 Volts when on high.
DMA Jennair The fan motor is bad and needs to be replaced.
I suggest a new cooktop as THIS IS THE WORST DESIGNED COOKTOP I HAVE EVER USED. Not enough power, very hard to clean,

Yes. Buy a burner module. Sears sells them also most appliance part stores. (I am assuming you have the model with 2 knobs on the grill side) The electric version of burner modules is around $100 Gas should be similar price.
