My burners disintergrated on my home depot charmglow 720-0036 grill. I purchased new burners but cannot seem to get them in. Is there something I need to remove in order to get the burners to fit?

  • klcstumpy Nov 17, 2009

I have it all cleaned out. I can't get the burner over the nipple attached to the on/off knob. It's about a quarter of an inch from dropping into the grill and into place. If I could get the burner over the nipple it would slide right into place. I have replaced burners on other grills, this is a problem with this grill the burners come factory installed. I have to remove something to make it fit in, I just don't know what

You have to look where the old burners were and the pipe part of the burner is held in with a clip. If the clip is still there remove it and check to make sure there is no leftover pipe left in the way. Install your burners and the clips and your ready to go.

Sounds like you know what you're doing, so my guess at this point is either the end of the knob comes off or they sold you the wrong burners for that grill. I'll do some checking for you and see if I can come up with some better details.

Hey Anon..
WOA...compressed propane is not something to mess around with..I would go back to the Home Depot and talk to the store manager,,(take your receipt and all other paper work for proof), ask him who to see about your issue.. tell him you are afraid to use your NEW grill.(Start at the top!).. you spent good $$$$ and you deserve an answer..or a new grill..

I am trying to install the grease tray on me grill. I had Home Depot put it together. I can't find the tracks to slide it in on. Seems kind of basic, but I'm not getting it. I'm sure...

Cy, Home Depot must have given you a good deal on this model, as it has been discontinued by Brinkmann. Never the less, Brinkmann still supports it.

In case Home Depot failed to include the Owner's Manual when they delivered it. I have included a link to it, that you can download & print for future reference. Starting on Page # 20, you will see how to install the drip pan.

Searching for an owners manual for my grill

In my online research, I was not able to find any free downloads for manuals of this brand. I did find a website that sold Charmglow manuals, though they did not list your specific model. However, they have a toll free # you can call and request your specific model manual. Hope this helps.

Charmglow electric fireplace bad remote control

Here is the home site for Charmglow - you could try to call them and see what they say. I would hope they want to keep their customers:

If you have not had it for the full warranty period, by all means. (I would call their Customer Service number first.) Here is the site for phone numbers:

Regulator freezing up

1. Are you using a portable LP cylinder? LP Regulators freeze up when the liquid part is the propane is flowing through the regulator this is caused by an overfilling of the propane tank.
2. If the BTU capacity of the regulator is not high enough to cover the BTUs of your grill, the regulator is working too hard and potentially pulling liquid (not vapor as it should)

I would suggest calculating the BTUs of your grill and looking to see what the capacity of the regulator you are using.

Gas grill ignitors

Check the electrode.  That is the end at the burner.  It may be corroded and no longer creating a spark.
