First try repairing the connection, next unplug the router wait 3 sec then re plug it. That should fix the network problem

in you internet browser type in your default gateway address example listed as 192.168.1.1 Default for the older models the user name is blank and the password is admin. for the newer models the password and user name are both admin. once you log in click on administration tab then change the password.

To set a password to prevent people from using you wireless network, simply select the wireless tab --- select wireless security then pick WEP from the drop down list, then write down one of the generated codes. you will need to input that into every computer you want to have access, i also recommend you change the wireless access name from the default.

I am trying to use my laptop via wireless with this Linksys wireless router. I can't figure out how to go about it. When I try to use the disc that came with it, it asks me for a password. Thank you...

Should not be any password in a new router but if there is a password your can simply bypass it by locating the reset button on the back on the router it should be a small red button that says reset. push it in for about 20 seconds and release that should give you access to the router. also you do not need the cd it is just a wizard that makes it somewhat easier, I suggest logging into your router and setting things up for yourself. just open a iE page and type the following ip in the url bar 192.168.1.1 that is the most common linksys ip. a small box will appear asking for a user name or password the default for most linksys are to leave username blank and admin for the password. this will take you into your basic settings in the wireless section give your network a name instead of leaving it as default linksys. after you have done that go to the security section and set up your security I suggest using a wpa or wpa2 encryption. after you choose your settings it will ask you to give the network a security key. put in a good long password that you can either write down or remember. check the box that says dhcp, hit save and thats it you now have a secure network set up. Hope this helps please reply if you have any other questions during the set up process

I need to know the network key for my Linksys routerWRT54GL-EU in order to establish a wireless LAN to my PC (a Fujitsu moidel) Best regards, Preben Lund prebenlund@plt.dk

When you first installed your router, you used the "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard" to"
* set an SSID ("network-name") for your network.
* set an encryption-level. Hint: use 'WPA' or 'WPA2'.
* set a password or pass-phrase for your network.

Enter that password. Or, rerun that Wizard, to create new settings.

I forgot my password

If you have forgotten your LinkSys router password, the easiest thing to do is to reset your router to the factory default settings.

To restore the router configuration to factory defaults, hold the reset button on the unit for 30 seconds.

Once your router is hard reset, you will need to login and reconfigure it again.

To reconfigure your LinkSys, connect a PC to one of it's Ethernet ports, load a web browser, and go to the URL http://192.168.1.1/. This will take you to a popup box which asks you to enter a username and password to login to your router.

LinkSys Default Password

On older LinkSys routers, the default username is blank and the default password is "admin." On newer Linksys routers, both the default username and the default password are set to "admin."

Once you are past the login screen, you are able to reconfigure the LinkSys router.

Linksys router G - buddy forgot password I am at my brother-in-laws home for the week and they don't know the username and password for the linksys but they do have custom settings. How can I just reset...

Are you looking for the wireless password or the password of the router?
If you want the password of the router, then try the default password of the router. If the default password doesn't work then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router.
If you are looking for the wireless network password, then you will need to open the set up page of the router. Is there any computer connected to the router ? If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router. Or any other computer which is able to go online using the router. Check the IP address on that computer. open the set up page of the router. Set up page of the router is the page where you will find all the settings of the router. under the wireless section you will find the wireless network password
