If you have an overhead valve engine I suggest you remove thevalve cover and check your pushrods to see if they are bent or out of adjustment, They should be gapped at .005 top dead center

so take a power washer to the carb area when it cools off. behind the plastics that protect the carb is the engine and fins for cooling. this choke thing sits up in there and gets dirty, best thing is to take off the carb and all the parts under it and clean out back in there , get the dirt out so the air will flow, use carb cleaner to get the dirt out of the autochoke . there is a idle arm/throttle that has a light spring on it , don't screw that thing up. power wash the whole thing if you can, usually wont affect the electrical. A little soon maybe but might need the valve lash adjusted , that's a once a year thing anyway.

Fuel filled up air intank, lawnmower been sitting for 2 year.2003 troy-bilt riding mower

Ethanol gas ruins the Needle Valve tips and Valve Seats. This allows gas to get past them even when the Float is up causing the Needle valve to close. I bet your Oil is full of Gas as well.
Change oil, Add a Gas shutoff in the gas line and from now on shut the new Shutoff OFF a few seconds before turning off the Mower. OR by a new seat and needle valve for the Carb.

21" Troy Built Self Propelled lawnmower engine won't start.

Remove spark plug, clean or replace. Remove air cleaner, clean or replace. Ensure oil is full. 30w. Drain old gas out of tank. Fill with fresh gas with Stabile added. Remove bowl from bottom of carb. clean. Observe bowl screw, see if hole goes thru screw. Clean out. Bread wrapper works nice. Observe float. Float down gas flow, float up no gas flow. Re-assemble, prime 3 times, pull rope 10 times to start. No start replace carb.

I have a Toro 16.5 riding lawnmower it stop and wouldn,t start back what could be my problem?

Battery charged? Bad fuel? Low on oil? 30w oil required. Clean carb. Check for improper ground on starting circuit. Ignition switch providing power to starter when key turned? Always use Stabile in gas. Remove bowl from carb ensure float is working properly. Float up no fuel flow, float down fuel flow. Ensure oil is full, low oil shutoff will not allow starting.

My Husqvarana riding lawnmower is leaking large amounts of gas and oil. Started but was smoking and sounded very rough and now does not turn over at all. What could it possibly be?

sounds like the needle valve in the carb is not seating then the gas over flows into the crankcase so change the needle and seat change the oil and you should be safe to go

Why is my riding lawnmower leaking large amounts of gas and oil?

sounds like the needle valve in the carb is not seating causing over flow into the crankcase thinning out the oil causing over filled condition and leaks and smoke

Lawnmower engine starts then shuts off. i put in fresh gas and it still does the same. I checked the oil level and its ok.

I assume your mower is starting when you "Prime" it with the plunger. That is forcing enough gas into the carb to start it, but then the gas is not flowing freely on its own. I'm guessing it sat with some Ethanol gas in it and needs a good carb cleaning, as 90 percent of what I work on, this is the case. I'm linking you to a great video which will show you how to do your carb, if you are so inclined. Best of luck to you.

I have a craftsman riding lawnmower with a kohler 15.5 ohv engine, it will not start, i disconnect the wire on the magneto and it will start but will stall about a minute later, i have cleaned the carb,...

Couple of ideas, if there is a fuel shut off solinoid on the bottom of the carb float bowl, remove it switch the ignition on, the lottle pin in the end should be drawn in, if not, check there is power to it with a multi meter, also if it has a fuel pump up by the rocker box, check this is pumping by removing the hose onto the carb, crank the engine to check fuel flow.

My westwood ride on mower, model 2012 wont start.

Could be a few things, First, you say it's getting fuel, but is the fuel fresh? It may have water in it and act like your engine. Did this problem just start happening? Did you happen to ride over something that may have sheared the key on the flywheel? This would throw the timing off on the engine. If you can try to start it while spraying gas into the carb throat and it keeps running, then it could just be a dirty caburetor or a misadjusted carb float. Good luck, Bill
