My triumph bonneville 2005 america has just started running on one cylinder.it was intemittant to start with now its happening more and more often.i ve checked the leads and swaped coils but the fault is always on the right hand side heeeeelp.alan r

Just a very quick check,Swap the sparkplugs over.Don't put in new ones.If the problem follows that plug,it is only the sparkplug.Hope you get it fixed

I had traced a similar problem on my 2007 Triumph America back to a possible bad CDI. Come to find out the black knob by the left carb that adjusts idle is also related to the timing of the CDI. What clued me is two wires running to the carb! The CDI is set for an idle of 500 rpm's. When I had adjusted the idle down the CDI went out of whack with the timing. This explains why after 5-10 minutes of idling the second cylinder would kick in, as the rpm increased due to warming up. I simply raised the idle with the BLACK KNOB and it solved the problem.
