Question about Mitsubishi WD-73833 73" HDTV

1 Answer

I have a Mitsubishi DLP (WD-73833) and I am loosing HDMI ports, I am currently using the last working input (out of 4 total) I have only used my Xbox-360 with these inputs, but they did get a lot of use. Mitsubishi had me reset the TV with the little button on the front, but they still do not work.

I have been extremely careful with this TV. I feel it is worth noting that the TV, and XBOX console has always been turned off when I was switching connections.

I do not know what I could have done to damage the board, but I appreciate the input. I am putting off taking the television to a repair person.

I have had it less than one year, but it was an open item that Best Buy had on display.

That TV is suppose to have automatic input detection but if it doesn't work you can press the input button on the remote and then use the arrows and enter to select the input you are trying to use.

I have a wd-62525 dlp i have pic and sound through ant. and hdmi but on component and video inputs i only get sound no pic

Hello
It seems to be some fault with its HDMI cable you connect to this device from the source. As you get sound by HDMI, and no picture at all, this indicates the fault with cable itself. There is a cution notice says that " To assure continued FCC compliance, the user must use a shielded video interface cable
with bonded ferrite cores at both ends, when using the PC or HDMI input."
Cheang the cable and check.

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.

Single HDMI Input. Need to connect several HDMI components

Number 1 would be to connect the 3 Devices to a Receiver with 3 HDMI Inputs, So this way you get the HDMI Audio as well. 3 in and 1 out to the TV as you know. The other way would be to get a Key Digital HDMI 3 to 1 Switcher. I have used these a lot in the field on installs and they work Great. They also have 4 to 1 if you think you might need more. No programming of the piece you just plug in and setup your TV in the HDMI Menu and your other Devices. If they don't sync AUTO! The Receiver would be Best I feel, Some let you assign 2 different Video and Audio sources at once. Such as Video from a Game and Audio from a CD. Hope this helps out!

Screen flicker when selecting Blu-Ray player w/ HDMI-1 selected.

Something to remember is that most HDMI setups on TV's have what is called a DVI/HDMI port, I would suggest not using anything on that port that isnot converted from DVI to HDMI. I bet if you look, that HDMI 1 on yours....

Mitsubishi HDMI connection trouble

I have the same issue with my 73". Rather then going over all of my connections and equipment I'll just say htat I feel your frustration. I have been on the phone with Mitsubishi directly and it appears as though they have a free software upgrade that should address this problem. If you call 1-800-332-2119 and press 4 in the menu you will get someone to help you. Be patient. They will make you go through all of the fixes that you have already tried. They will mail you a flash drive that goes right into the front USB port of your TV. I hope this is of help. Good luck.
