Overload? there is power to the pump but the moter still does not work.is there a overload switch somewhere?

There is usually a reset button for the pump located in the mechanical area of the spa. Locate the reset button and push it, then turn on the pump. If it still won't work the next step would be to take out the pump and get it to a repair shop.

If my overload protecter reset part is broken wont that stop the moter from running


It's possible the motor may run if the reset is broken but it may prevent the motor from shutting off properly in case of an overload.

How do I fix my 3 yr old vacuum Panasonic mc-ul596 upright cleaner rattled smelt electrical fume then stopped.


smell the moter if it smells like burnt electrical it may be fried but check the wiring real good before u give up alot of the time the wires start to melt before the moter

My compressor is working but my moter having loaded & burn i change another motor the same problem is happening. please guide me. thanks


The motor will run hot/overload if wrong size or too long cord is used. Also if pressure is set too high (most set at 125 ~ 135 at shut-off). In-tank checkvalve will also have effect on motor by loading the compressor at start-up. Easy test. Run compessor till you have over 100lbs in tank then unplug from power. At this point try to turn the motor /pump by hand, it should turn rather/very easily (this test is hard to do if the motor /pump is completely enclosed, you need to be able to turn the pump even if by truning the fan blade). If it does not turn easily let all the air pressure out of tank and then try to turn by hand. If it turns easily with tank empty try one more test. Run compessor till the pressure switch turns it off. Then unplug machine and turn compessor again by hand, should be easy. If not easy then unloader / checkvalve not working. The checkvalve could be leaking air back from the tank loading the pump. Replace parts as needed.

The powerhead keeps needing the reset button pushed, I've changed the belt and cleaned the roller bar, the bag isn't to full, do you have any suggestions?


some time the overload switch need to be changed. If you dont want to can by pass the reset switch. Disconnect the wire to the reset and marette the wires to the power cord that is connected to the moter. Chris

Spin cycle is not working


one possible problem the lid swicth might have broken but if you hear a moter noise when it trying to spin the swictch is ok you can verify
if washing machine agitates during wash cycle
if no agitation newer design has a drive coupling between moter and transmission lean machine back
you will find debries center of machine about 8 inches back usually black rubber the drive coupling
has 3 pins on each outside peice that fit into the center bushing lean machine back have second person for safety unplug machine to change drive coupling there are two clips that hold pump to top of moter remove clips slide pump off shaft remove two screws from top of pump clips unplug wiring harness
undue clips remove moter drive coupling peices can be remove by pulling or can use large flat blade and work from oposites sides till plastic parts come off
reassembly place outside parts one on transmission one on moter install center part on transmission side
line up pins from moter to line up with 3 holes in center part normally top clip i install first so gravity assist with install of bottom clip reinstall screws plug in harness line up pump with moter shaft and reinstall clips run check if no noise from moter when lid is closed then lid switch might be bad the new style of washer is front serviceable there are two screws bottom outside corners of panel remove
light pressure pull panel forward then lift is hinged at
top back roll back there are two brass clips catch front of clip with flat blade screw driver and move top of handle toward back of machine clip will pop off wiring for lid switch on top of case needs to be unplugged outside case will tilt toward you then can be lifted off alignment tabs at bottom front there are two screws where lid switch is held to top of case can be seen when case is removed good luck ron

Will fill up with water but will not spin and just makes a buzzing noise?


there are two possible problems one the lid switch might be broken there is a small tab front right corner of lid that goes down into a hole to operate the switch which i beleive is still good because you can hear the moter hum there is a drive coupling between the moter and transmission if you lean the machine back you will find black rubber debries in the middle toward the front of machine before taking apart unplug from power the pump has two clips that hold it on top of moter there are two screws in two clips that hold the moter to a metal plate next to transmission the wiring harness plugs in to side of moter the drive coupling can be worked off gently with a wide screw driver from moter and transmission each plastic piece has three
pins that line up and fit into a hard black
rubber center the trick is lining it back up and clipping the metal supports back on moter i normally clip the top one back on first gravity assist with correct placement of moter to reinstal bottom clip reattach wiring harness two screws in moter clips reinstall pump will probably have to turn moter shaft to align with pump reinstall pump clips

Moter does not turn ON


If the tub has an push in off/on button, the problem is the air switch which is attached at the back of the motor in a black box. If the control panel has touch buttons, the problem lies in the control box that controls the pump or the pump itself which might be seized. If you can unplug the pump from the control box, it can be plugged into an outlet to see if the pump works. Unless you are mechanically inclined it would be best to leave this to a pro.

There is a overload switch - somtimes inside the starter solenoid area.
While you have the pump disconected from mains power - check to see if pump impella turns freely.

Kenmore Washing Machine won't agitate, spin, or drain


The problem sounds like the motor to transmission coupler. If it is not draining or spinning you may find that the lid switch is inop.
