    if you provide more details about your problem we may be able to help as there are just way to many reasons why your wireless system may not be working as before. in the mean time check on the router's manual and feel free to ask further questions. again.. make sure you have more details for us so we can properly assist. here's the user guide for your router. you did not include the version of your router (as it comes in different versions but the one in the link should be similar to the one specific for your router) feel free to post back with the version and more details of your problem.

Use a paperclip on the back of the router where the reset button is and hold it for 5 seconds. Afterwards, plug your computer into the router with a network cable. open a web browser and go to http://192.168.1.254
When prompted for a username and password, leave the username field blank and use admin as the password. you should then be in teh web interface and you can get in and re-establish your wireless connection

You need to configure the Linksys with the wireless settings, ie. the SSID and encryption. then you need to configure the wireless card in laptop with these router's wireless settings so it can connect with the wireless router.
Open a browser on your computer and type in the Linksys configuration URL.
http://192.168.1.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = admin
then go to the wireless section and configure the SSID and encryption. I suggest you use WPA or WPA2 these are much stronger encryption than the older WEP encrtption.

What is the operating system on your computer ?
If it is windows XP then you can use windows software to connect to the wireless network. Windows XP has it's own software to connect to the network. For this you will need to start the WZC service on your computer.
When you open the Linksys icon, does it say , adapter is inactive ? If it says that then unplug the adapter and plug it back in. try again and see if that works.

I have an old Linksys WRT54G v1.1 wireless router - trying to connect to my new DSL line using a motoral modem, to my Dell laptop running XP. help!!!

Is the motorola currently surfing and are you trying to add the linksys to it? If so you will need to go into the motorola and set it to bridge connection under connection type found in the expert mode of the modem. Then you will add the linksys and input the username and password in the pppoe connection type. Once the info is save click on the status tab and click connect. Hope this helps

Connecting Linksys wrtu54g wireless router with Linksys SPA 2102

If you want to receive "incoming" telephone-calls:

ADSL modem <---> Linksys SPA <---> wrtu54g <---> wired computer

and Linksys SPA <--- telephone-line-1 --> telephone hand-set
and Linksys SPA <--- telephone-line-2 --> FAX machine

or Linksys SPA <-- telephone-line-1 --> mechanical telephone-splitter
with telephone-splitter --> hand-set
with telephone-splitter --> FAX

Have SBCglobal with 2wire but want N wireless capability

Follow the dots -

2 wire DSL wire to back of DSL modem.

Ethernet cable out of DSL modem, to current router (if you have one).

Ethernet cable out of current router (if you have one) to new Wireless N router.

If you currently have a wireless G router, keep it, or, use the new Wireless G/N router alone. You will need to set up all security settings again if you remove your current router, and if the new router is N only, you will need to make sure all your wireless connecting computers have wireless N cards in them.

Turn your Linksys router off and back on again, then try connecting on your iPaq again. If that fails, do a soft reset on your iPaq and try again. If that fails, do a hard reset. Also, do you have any wireless security set up for the router?

you have to go into the routers settings, by typing it's ip address (refer to manual) in your internet browser and look for DHCP and make sure that it is enabled to automatically assign both your pcs an ip address. This must be done using a lan RJ45 cable that was supplied; first before going wireless. Next go to each pc and either use the wireless network setup wizard or go to your wireless network connections (in control panel>network connections) and right click on the connection(this is not the lan connection icon, make sure you choose your wireless icon) and select properties, then click the internet protocol line TCP/IP and again click properties. make sure that 'Obtain IP address automatically is ticked and click ok. Your pcs may need a restart and should find the router will be seen in your found connections, click connect and your away
