You may have a bad usb cord, try another cord, if windows 98 you need drivers from curtis international
select your model and download the windows 98 drivers, it mtght be on the driver cd download if you dont see a seperate download for win98.

Try unplugging the player, rebooting the computer and then plugging the device back in. If that doesn't work see if your player has different modes for the USB connection and make sure to change it to storage device. That will allow it to mount as a drive viewable in Windows(assuming this is Windows). If this is a version of Windows prior to XP you may need a device driver to make the player work. If this is Linux or a MAC most likely you will need a device driver of some sort.
