Replacing belt on Amana LWD70AW top load washing machine

I have the new belt. I have an assembly drawing for the Pump housing assembly. How does the pump get removed so that belt can be placed around the motor's pulley.

Hi. I am assuming you have the front cover off to be able to see the belt laying on the base. First thing is to make sue all bolts holding the motor assembly to inner frame are tight. Next, check your SPRINGS and their mounts...Rust and corrosion is main cause of failure. The belt goes around the water pump, transmission pully and inside of idler(tensioner) pully. Good luck! Install belt on Amana top load washing machine

Use the correct sized belt!!

Loosen the Motor mounting Bolts. ( Do not take it off ) Now the motor assembly can be moved towards the opposite large pulley.

Replace the belt in this position and slide the motor to it's original position. You adjust it in such away so that, the belt is not too tight or loose!

Hello! The belt broke on our Amana Mod.# DLW330RAW . Could you explain how to install the new belt? Thanks Ron

Remove the bottom kick plate.
Remove 4 big bolts and unplug the motor. Move the motor assembly to a work bench. You need a T-20 torx driver to remove the pump screws and remember the rear pump leg goes between the belt. I have your Amana washer repair manual HERE

The belt broke on the washing machine

You will have to remove the whole motor assembly out, then remove the water pump using torx 20 from the whole motor

Replace belt on amana washing machine

Do you mean the water pump? If so, it's likely rusted on the shaft. I used a couple 15" screwdrivers as pry bars. Got it off, didn't break the pump, you might not be so lucky. Clean the shaft with scotchbrite, a dab of silicone lube will make it easier next time. If you have a camera take a couple pics BEFORE you take it all apart. The belt will fit 2 different ways, and one way will chew up the plastic pump support post. Don't ask how I know. (Took a lot of effort to get it off, but you have to in order to change the belt. A new pump, if needed, is about $20 around here.....)

Belt Removal and Replacement

No.  The motor and pump assembly need to come off.
There is 4 1/2 inch bolts that hold this assembly to the main mechanism.  2 on top and 2 on bottom.  Work belt off bottom pulley on transmission and then remove these bolts.  Turn motor over and remove 3 torx screws holding pump to motor.  Install new belt then reinstall pump with 3 screws.  Reinstall assemblt to mech.  Pu top 2 screws in first then bottom 2.  Be sure belt goes on left side of black plastic idler pulley.  Work belt around transmission pulley.  You can press on opposite end of idler pulley arm to loosen belt tension.  Make sure belt is on all pulleys before testing.

How to remove pulley from pump?

Your question suggests you are trying to remove the pump pulley. This pulley is not removable. The motor pulley should have a set allen screw in it to release.
