Question about Fasco Bradford White Hot Water Heater Exhaust Draft Inducer Blower # 239-42133-00

Armstrong sx 90 draft inducer is getting water in it.

Armstrong sx 90 ultra furnace draft inducer is filling up with water. I'm assuming the air is not getting pushed out of the ductwork quick enough causing more condensation to back fill. Is the draft inducer going bad?

I have an SX90. After a couple of years in our home, I noticed a splashing sound coming from the inducer blower. Long story short, it wasn't draining properly and was causing a vacuum failure, so the furnace would shut down right after the main blower kicked on, then recycle. The installer had connected a drain tube to a port at the 9:00 position. Gravity rules. There was an unopened port at 6:00, so I drilled it out, hooked up my own tube and it has been fine ever since. I think the problem is that the flue pipe dribbles just a little bit when the furnace is off. Most goes into the drain, but enough finds its way into the blower to cause problems.

I have the same problem. I flushed out all the condensate drains and they are clear. The blower is slowly filling with water and then eventually the pressure switch kicks out the furnace.

Model # 5vp40e-1 Richmond power vent hot water heater made some ticking noises very faint and stopped heating up.fan does not run either.

First try turning off the switch, unplugging it, replugging it in and flipping the switch to restart it. If this doesn't work, the first thing I would check is the draft inducer(looks like blowdryer) and the pressure switch which looks like a flying saucer. If you flip the switch, the first thing you should hear is the draft inducer blowing. If it blows and then stops, jump out the pressure switch and try to relight. If that works, it's the pressure switch.Replace it. There are other safety devices like roll-out switches and hi-limit switches that may be bad. Also, your flue pipe could be clogged, or your vent on the draft inducer may be clogged. Those will set of a safety switch because of overheating. That may be the ticking you were hearing. This is especially likely if your water heater is located in the laundry room because of all the lint floating around. If you've never troubleshot low voltage electric circuits before, you are better off hiring a service mechanic.

Keeps giving a code of ops on boiler and will not kick blower on

Are you certain this is a boiler? Furnaces use blowers; boilers do not.

Could you be referring to an induced-draft small blower motor that normally runs immediately on a call for heat?

Is there an electronic control board measuring about 6 inches by 8 inches visible?

We can help if you give us a model # and brand name. Does it operate by oil, natural gas, or propane (LP)?

Hot water boiler wont heat up

If the draft inducer is bad then that will cause your system to go into lock down and will not work. You will need to check your vent pipe and everything all the way to make sure that there are no blocks or anything going on. If everything checks out ok, then you will need to replace the inducer motor and the system will work properly

The elbow is broken and the air from the hot water tank is leaked

Any exhaust air coming from the gas water heater is potentionally life threating. I would get it fixed. Do you have a CO2 meter close by the water heater? If it is leaking air back into the house that has CO2, after a certain amount the alarm will go off. If you dont have one get one. A must have with gas appliances.

How does a draft inducer blower work

A draft inducer blower is used to create a proper draft in a chimney or exaust pipe from your water heater or furnace. In a high efficiency furnace or water heater, there is not enough heat expelled from the unit to the chimney to create a proper draft. The toxic carbon monoxide gas which is expelled through the chimney from your appliance is normally carried upward due to the rising hot air in the chimney. When appliances got more efficient (putting more heat into the water tank and less going out the chimney), manufacturers had to add this blower to help get the gases out the chimney since there wasn't enough hot air to create a draft.
Hope this helps.
