# How do you enter a division problem on the calulator so that you get the answer and the remainder?

I have the manual, don't want to down load. Which example in the manual 1-120 show this problem?

I have been waiting for someone to answer me about my question!!! How do you enter on the Casio fx-115 ES calulator a division problem with a remainder! I've signed up. You have all my information, so give me what I asked for. Thank you, I have a test tomorrow!

Here is a good example:
You do the division then subtract the integer part of the qoutient so you will arrive at the decimal part. Multiply by the divisor then you wil have the remainder.
In the example you have given
99 / 13 = 7.6......
You subtract 7 you will arrive at 0.6......
multiply by 13 you will get the remainder 8
Hope this helps. There may be a simpler way but this will get it done. Here is a link to the manual as well in case you need to reference it for any reason.

Don't know if you still have the manual for calculator, but it describes everything in it, i use Sharp, so unfortunately i am not able to give you on hand support, but i found a link where you can download the manual for troubleshooting this problem.

Hello

Using the algorithm Original-Int(Original/divisor)*divisor

First you calculate Original/divisor; See what is the integer part
Then use the integer part to multiplies with the divisor. Finally Use the original to subtract the products.

For example, say to find remainder when 73 is divided by 8

So you find 73/8 = 9.125, and the integer part is 9.
Now find 9*8=72

Press MODE MODE 3 to enter BASE mode. Press DEC if necessary. The calculator should show d.

Now suppose you want to find the remainder when 24 is divided by 5. You would press 24 - 24 ? 5 X 5 =
The calculator should show the remainder 4.

In
BASE mode the calculator automatically performs integer division. This
is also true on the FX-3650P/3950P and you can use this property in
writing programs.

I am afraid the question does not make complete sense.
However to find the remainder of an integer division
You use the fraction [a b/c] key
Example remainder of 29 divided by 15
29 [a b/c] 25 [=]
That gives you 29/15
Press [SHIFT][a b/c] (d/c), you get 1 u 14 u 15 or 1 14/15. The numerator of the fraction part is the remainder.

### How to find remainder as a solution in CASIO fx991ES

Finding the remainder from a division calculation is often referred to as using the MOD function, though this isn't available directly on the fx-991ES.
To obtain the remainder, for example when dividing 10 by 7, you can only divide 7 into 10 once, leaving a remainder of 3.
For larger numbers, eg when dividing 389487 by 31 (equivalent to 389487MOD31) the division gives an answer of 12564.09677 (on the display), however you only want the fractional part so subtract 12564 to give 0.0967741935 . This includes the lower value digits that were previously hidden. Then multiply this result by 31 which gives 2.999999999 on the display. Since the result of a MOD or remainder calculation involving integers has to be a whole number, the answer needs to be rounded to 3. If the answer doesn't easily round to a whole number, it is likely that you have gone beyond the calculator's working capacity.
An alternative method which avoids the rounding of the fractional part is to take the integer part of the first result (12564) and multiply it by 31 to get 389484, then subtract this from 389487, giving the answer of 3.

The function dies not exist in the OS's prior to OS Version 2.53 MP.
