Question about Palm Tungsten T3 Handheld

Task bar not recognized

Just recently my task bar stopped being recognized by my stylus. This only happens when palm is fully extended. It may be from installing a new program, however I deleted all my new programs since it was working and it doesn't help. When I tap on the task bar it seems to activate the buttons above the task bar. For example, when the keyboard is displayed, and I press the home key on the taskbar, it highlights the 'int.' button on the keyboard. I tried to
re -syncronize my stylus but it doesn't have any effect. I'd really like to get the use of my task bar back!

Re: Task bar not recognized

Try recalibrating the digitizer ans see if that helps.

Have you tried doing a hard reset? (WARNING! All data is lost, so make sure you have a backup!!)

If the problem does not go away after that then you have a hardware problem.

Palm z22. wont startup without holding the up arrow key and doing a soft reset. Then Task icon wont load and some of the other applications wont load

Try doing a hard reset. Warning: A hard reset will erase everything on your device. All your data will be removed, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings. Don't perform a hard reset unless you've backed up your data, or you're willing to lose everything.

Here are the directions:

  1. Press and hold the Power (on/off) button on the front panel of your device.
  2. While holding Power, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus. Gently press and release the RESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device (where's the reset hole?).
  3. If you see a progress bar (see below), keep holding the Power button.
  4. Next, the Palm Powered screen will appear. Release the Power button when you see it.
  5. You'll see a screen that asks: Erase all data? YES = "up" button NO = any other button. Press UP on your 5-way navigator to complete the hard reset.

Your device will then take you through a series of screens to calibrate the digitizer and verify the time and date.
Note: A hard reset does not delete the current date and time. It does restore other settings to the factory default.
The progress bar On some devices, you may see a Palm or palmOne logo and a progress bar first. Do not release the Power button until the second, circular Palm Powered logo appears. From there follow the on screen directions and then do a HotSync. Best wishes

I can't get my palm m130 to connnect with my computer, I have a cradle (yes its connected), and all I can get it to do is charge. I used to have an ipaq and I loved it, it broke and now I bought this piece...

There is a simple fix for the problem you are having. This same thing happened to me. The first thing to do is to make sure you have the most up to date software for the desktop. Once that is done do a hard reset. Here are the directions for that:

1. Press and hold the power button.

2. While holding the power button, use the tip of the stylus ( or a similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press and release the reset button inside the hole on the back of your hand held.

3. Wait for the Palm2.gif Powered logo to appear, and then release the power button.

4. When you see the message that warns you about erasing all of the info on your hand held do one of the following:
a) Press UP on the 5 way navigator button on the bottom of your hand held to finish the reset and show the touch screen2.gif.
b) Press any other button to do a soft reset.

5. When prompted , tap to align the screen, and then set the language you want to use on your hand held. A screen appears showing the Palm logo and a progress bar. From there continue to set up your Palm and then do a hot sync. This should reset everything. Best wishes....Hope this helps.

Ctrl+ALT+Del does not launch Task Manager on my MobilePro 900, why?

The Ctrl-alt-del short cut to the Task Manager is not on the MobilePro 900. To bring up Task Manager on the MobilePro 900, hold the "Alt" key and then tap the task bar with the stylus simultaneously. A menu with "Task Manager" and "Properties" will be displayed, select Task Manager.

Lost calendar on hotsync

The information is unfortunately lost.

Unless you synced the palm on another computer, the palm only can back up the information when synced.

So if you sync it and the computer overwrites the handheld, the information never made it to the computer and thus cannot be restored.

The only thing you could check would be the backup folder in the palm directory under your profile name. Palm puts all of the .prc/.pdb files in there when you sync.

Any way to reverse synchronization?

If you happen to have rollback turned on in Windows XP, you could roll back your PCs data to before the last HotSync date/time.

A hard reset of my T3 and sync with 'Desktop overwrite HH' on all Outlook conduits seemed to have resolved the problem.
