Hello. I can assist you. I also have this mixer and I can tell you from experience. You have to lift it up about 1/4 inch and then twist it a small amount and pull it down and out. You can not hurt it so don't worry about using some force when you do this. Good luck with it.

These are a bayonet type (turn and pull).

If necessary use a pair of channellock pliers to do the rotation.

When you get it off, make sure to clean both the shaft and the implement. Put a bit of mineral oil on between uses on the mating parts.

SOURCE: paddle beater won't push up and turn to release

When you are able to remove the paddle, feel the opposite side of the spindle. It should be smooth. The pin should not stick out the back at all. Carefully, tap it in until it is even with the spindle. That will fix you up, unless the pin itself is also damaged. If so, get a small file and remove any burrs from where the paddle mounts.

Find the screw in the picture as shown and screw it counter-clock-wise which will drop the bowl level down when it is in the raised position and the mixer paddle will not rub on the bowl.

State your country and someone will direct you. What is a batter blade, is that the flat paddle or a dough hook?

I can hear the motor running, but the attachment does not move.

Sounds like what happened to my wife's mixer. There is one nylon gear in the drive assembly that is designed to break if too much load is put on the mixer. Like what can happen with dough or butter that is too hard/frozen. That is designed to save rest of the mixer. Sounds like you need to replace the KitchenAid Mixer Worm Drive and Pinion Gear Assembly. In our case, it was not the nylon gear that broke, but a small pin that is this gear assembly. By getting the assembly & not just the nylon gear, you cover more of your bases. I found a video on line that walks you through replacing the part. I also bought the part online. The assembly part, including shipping cost me $12.95.

Hope this helps.

The paddle attachment has changed color, its kind of spotty. Is this normal? I have only used it 4 or 5 times....

If you have the burnished paddle (silver, not white) then it is not dishwasher safe. If you've run it through the dishwasher, it will discolor, but shouldn't affect the performance.

Whisk is stuck..can't be removed. what can i do? mixer is kitchen aid c 4. thanks for any suggestions!!

We had this same issue with our KitchenAid Mixer. Whether it is the whisk attachment or the paddle, the problem is that stuff (most likely sugar based) got into the attachment connection area and dried. It seems like a little sugar couldn't possibly glue the attachments to the stand mixer, but it does.

The solution is to turn the mixer on it's side and pour a kettle or two of boiling water on the section that joins the mixer to the attachments. Pour slowly to allow boiling water to penetrate grooves. Wiggle a little, pour more water, repeat... that should allow you to get it off.

In the future make sure to soak the attachments in boiling water every once and a while to allow all the gook to loose. And let it fully dry before reattaching to mixer.

Kitchenaid Mixer head wobbles bad

The solution provided by luannej is useful only if your mixing attachment is striking the surface of the bowl. By adjusting the screw located at the junction of the head and base, you are actually controlling how far the head is allowed to tilt forward and, thus, the height of the attachment above the bottom of the bowl. Although the attachment striking the bottom of the bowl will lead to wobble (and noise!), it isn't usually the root cause of the wobble. In fact, the wobble may be causing the bowl strikes and adjusting the head height only hides the problem.

The head of the mixer is secured to the base by a large steel pin. Any play between the head and base comes from this hinge and its resulting tolerances. To "tighten" the sloppy tolerances causing your wobble, follow these steps: 1) Lock the mixer's head down and turn the entire mixer upside down. 2) Looking deep into the hollow base, find the small slotted set screw. This screw actually presses against the pin and takes up the slop between the head and pin. Note that this screw is not the large slotted screw I mentioned earlier visible when you tilt the head back. 3)Tighten the small set screw as much as you can. Your wobble should be greatly reduced or eliminated now. 4) Lastly, you may want to readjust the large screw controlling the head's tilt to optimize the distance between attachment and bowl. Hope this helps.

Read the instruction manual. There is a screw to adjust the beater height, it is where the mixer joins to the stand.

I think this link will help you understand what is needed to fix your mixer.

You will need to purchase a gear. Here is link MarBeck should have it.

You may need to replace some grease. Make sure to use a non-toxic food grade grease.
