This is what happens when there done up to tight,
get a soft jaw vice and put the thred of the turret into the SOFT JAW VICE!!! (lined with leather),,,,
very gently grip the threds and undo the cap,,,
when refitting the bottom bit to the scope put a small blob of grees on the bearing part,,,oh,,by the way!!,,,
it should be regased! or it could fog up on you when it gets cold,,, only just nip up the turret caps next time

Try some PB Blaster. Wet a q tip and apply to the area at the base of the turret caps. Wait a few minutes and reapply. Then using a small pair of vice grips attempt to twist the turret covers off. A cotton cloth will help keep the gripping surfaces of the pliers from scratching too bad. Hope this helps.

Have no idea how to set up the sight on my air gun

I don't have this particular model. Chances are, those are not "knobs" but caps. Remove the caps as you would remove the caps from a pill bottle. Underneath, you should find the adjustment dials for windage and elevation,

You can download a generic Simmons scope manual here:

Kenmore elite washer does not finish the drain cycle and it shows a LD error and does not finish washing.

LD error is for long drain. The pump filter in the pump assembly is probably clogged. Remove front lower panel, pump assembly is in the front with a cap that unscrews. Once cap is unscrewed you can slide out the filter and clean. Remove as much water as possible from basket before taking off pump cap or else water will come flooding out when filter is removed. Reinstall and run drain spin cycle. Should drain ok.

How do you take off the Pannarello steam attachment to install the Cappuccinatore? Does it screw off or does the entire unit pull off. I've tried some force but I don't want to break the Pannarello. Thanks

Hi
Most pannarello's have a screw cap on top. The outer shell pulls off with a twist. Hold the inner stem and twist the cap on top to unscrew. Leave the cap and seals on the wand, or just loosen the cap and pull the whole assembly off complete, or you could loose parts that are inside.

I have a Bushnell Sprotiew 4x, 15mm scope mounted on a Mossburg .22 rifle. My shots are hitting left six inches and low. Can you please tell me how to adjust this scope? Thank you.

Keep in mind Diane this is for a set distance. if you are taking a shot at a target further than your are set for (ie a target you wont get 3 shots @) remember how the bullet is travelling as it goes down range

one idea would be to set your rifle up down range and zero it in on a target (preferably paper) now adjust 1 MOA (try and have target @ 100 yards and 200 yards)

see how far the bullet moves for each moa adjustment. then check it against the next range.

this should remain constant @ a set number of inches per 100 yards.

so if you zero in @ 100 yards and then move 1 moa any direction and it adjusts (lets say and hope it is 1.047 inches") then you do the same for 200 yards. it should be twice as much movement. ie 2.094"

once you know what 1 moa represents on your scope you can adjust alot more accurately.

REMEBER the total inches of movement / adjustment per MOA is directly related to range (a precise range helps in shooting) so if your squirrel is 150 yards and your first shot is off 9" to adjust you divide 9" by the inches per moa so 1.5 (150 yards /100) X (Inches per 100 yards per moa you measured hopefully 1.047") its 9" divided by 2x1.047 = 9" / 2.094 = 4.29799

this number needs to be rounded to the nearest click on your scope (most are 1/4 MOA scopes and you can tell by looking at how many clicks/lines are inbewteen each large number on your windage and elevation dials

so to turn this into an adjustment we round 4.29799 to 4.25 which is 4.25 MOA or 17 clicks on a 1/4 min scope.

GL and any questions just post and ill help

not please rate this as fixya :)

Note i can provide EXACT information that would allow you to determine range, and windage and elevation adjustments by looking through scope and estimating range
then factoring in weather variables. NOTE you hafta enjoy math or just want to know how to shoot really well. :)

Caps will not screw off to adjust sights on scope

Many cap threads are reverse. try unscrewing the other direction. If this doesnt work my suggestion is to use physics to get it off.

Image a jar that is 1 litre with a lid that is 10 cm across. it takes x amount of force to unscrew that jar.
Now if that same jar has a lid that is 25 cm across there is a power advantage and a speed reduction.

Now to apply this to your thread caps. try adding layers of tape/cloth onto the thread caps to make it easier to unscrew.

Lost caps

I'm not sure how this got posted in the car audio section...

If the scope was manufactured by a well established company, you should be able to get a new cap from them.

If you cannot locate the manufacturer, you can move the other cap to the windage adjustment to set the windage. Then when you're finished, move the cap back to the elevation adjustment.

Even if you use it for a shooting discipline that requires constant adjustment, it's unlikely that you'll need to use the windage adjustment for anything other than setting the zero.
