Keep saying priter not comunicating with computer, has happend several times

If a driver disc came with the unit, try and re-boot the system,check all conectoins, even phone line plug.

Chuck, I certainly sympathize with "tech support" that isn't, and with you on printers that don't get new drivers when new versions of Windows com out.
I'd be happy to enter a dialog with you to try to help you.
Have you tried another computer, hopefully running something different?
What connection are you trying to use? Does the printer have any alternative connection available? (say, USB or network)
When you first plug it into the computer, does the computer sense it's there and look for drivers, or does it ignore you?

Try to uninstall the Lexmark driver and download an updated driver online:

You might also want to check the security software (firewall) and make sure that all of the Lexmark applications are allowed.

Updating the firmware of your printer will also help:

I refilled my new cartridge but priter says its empty

Hi there

Did you say you refilled them your self if so then buy new inks because Lexmark not will take refilled cartridges, sorry but this is down to Lexmark how they made them so it will not take refilled and cant be reset.

I just bought a new DELL computer with the windows vista program. I alredy instaled the software for my Lexmar X1240 printer with the 1200 series disck. I can not print because each time I try to a window...

This is from the Lexmark Support page:

Attention Windows Vista Users
If you have installed your printer on your PC using an original Lexmark Driver CD that came with your product and you are experiencing problems when printing, you may have installed the Windows XP driver.

Follow these steps to resolve:
· Disconnect your USB cable from your printer.
· Uninstall all Lexmark printer drivers on your PC.
· Download the correct Vista driver for your model. (From Lexmark Support)
· Install the driver on your PC.

Important - Do not reconnect the USB cable until the install software prompts the question of how the printer is connected.

Printer not comunicating

try to reload the printer driver on your laptop if this doesnt change things then ethernet with your regular computer by cable

Lexmark 1200 series all in one

I purchased a lexmark 1200 series all in one printer and cannot locate the cd that came with it. Is there a way to install it without the cd? I tried but it says can't find hardware.

Of course the first this people are going to say is the obvious. Have you checked the connections on both ends? Have you tried a different cable? Have you powered off both the PC and the printer?
