How to format ibm thinkpad 2662

The same model ThinkPad can have different types of network, video and audio drivers and unless you know exactly which one is installed in your ThinkPad, you need to download all the drivers and install each driver until you find the right driver. When you download the drivers, write down the device driver and it's file name so you have a record of which driver you are installing and which directory the unzipped files are located on your hard drive. Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows device drivers for your model computer, Use this link: - You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the various driver files, they will then unzip and expand into a sub folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder (run the set-up file).

ThinkPad X20 2662 PC Notebook: how can i unlock my ibm thinkpad x20...

Hi, If you are talking about the Boot, HDD, Bios password, then the only one way to recover it is to implement a chip on the systemboard to shorcut the protection or to contact Lenovo for a systemboard replacement. Unfortunalty, no other ways other round. Thanks and have a nice day J-

Dead laptop

1.Turn computer off
2. Remove the battery, charger and all accesories connected.
3. Press power button for 1 minute
4. Connect the power adapter only.
5. Turn on the computer.

If not turning on and not even boot to lenovo screen then posible issue with the hardware. call the manufacturer if you are still within warranty they can fix that for free.

My screen is black after powering on. i have

Try an external monitor, if still nothing, power down, remove battery / /tap start button to de energise system / remove / replace ram stick (s).

If stil no go may me mobo / faulty ram(assuming there is NO posting beep) / faulty CPU.

If ext monitor works then prob with monitor itself.

Get moniotr wiring / ribbon plugs checked.

Laptop suddenly won't start

It could possibly be a bad motherboard. But before having the mobo replaced, I suggest you swap out parts from a working system to eliminate points of failure. if you don't have the parts, just remove the parts not needed for posting. this includes the hdd, optical drive, modem, bluetooth card, wireless card, and external devices. once you see the dell logo, install these devices one at a time and see what causes the problem. If you decided to have the mobo replaced, you can send your system to the depot for repairs. before this try pushing F12 when booting see if you can get onto the dell diagnostics.
