LG Xenon keypad slid open will not turn horizontal on the screen

My LG Xenon keypad when slid open will not turn the screen horizontal. It does turn horizontal for a second or halfway during the opening of the slider sometimes, but once it is completely slid open, it stays in portrait mode. I have even turned the phone off and back on to see if this was just a fluke but it still does not turn horizontal when I open the keypad all the way. What has happened? When I turn on the MobileEmail it opens in the horizontal position, so this does not make sense. Please advise. Thank you.

I read that you can rub a magnet on the backside of the slider and it makes the screen turn portrait and horizontal - you can see that when you rub the magnet on the backside. I just rubbed the magnet with the slider open on the horizontal side (only the right side) - if you rub the left side it makes it portrait. I did that a few times and my phone turns horizontal now when I open the keypad slider. It appears to have worked doing this at this point.

Ok you may check in the settings and see if it is set to auto rotate it is in settings and then phone and the reason the mobile email does is because the app itself only shows up in landscape mode if it is set to on but still doesnt work then probably a phone problem

The phone should still function fine with the keypad open.

So type in your code, then use the arrow keys to select yes and hit enter...

When I open the keypad to use the keyboard, the phone screen stays in the vertical position rather than flipping to the horizontal position. what to do??

The flex cable of your phone between the keyboard and screen may be disconnected or needs to be replaced, which enables the screen flips when the keyboard is brought up. The best step here is to take it to the LG repair shop and get it mended. Though you can it is difficult to repair it yourself, you can use appropriate screwdrivers for the screws of the phone, find the flex cable and fix it. Close the phone just the way you opened it.

To turn off the beep on the keypad beep or voice on an LG Xenon, go to menu; settings; sound; volume. From there you can raise or lower the volume or mute the keypad and other sounds.
