If it's not in the back then it's on the bottom. Someone must have had it before you and had it converted.

Install a attic vent

I know that you need to install the vent but if you can pick a different location it would be better for energy efficiency because of associated downdrafts that may occur. If you can locate the vent to go through a wall to the outside it would probably be better, If that is too big a project maybe consider an indoor venting system. If you wish to use the attic assure that you add a "draft trap" (see link) and assure you clean the dryer vent pipe at least 1/yr.

Most likely the vent is plugged - check the vent hose (usually start at the outside location & work back to dryer). If hose is not clogged, unplug dryer, remove vent hose from back of dryer and check there.

Model 87577800 sock went thru the lint vent

The model number you have listed has the dryer vent on top of the dryer. Small items commonly fall down into the vent chute on these dryers. Articles can easily be retrieved by following these steps:

1. UNPLUG the dryer. Dangerous voltage is still present inside a dryer even when it is turned off.

2. Remove the lint screen and remove the two screws that connect the vent chute to the top panel.

3. Turn the dryer around so you can access the rear, and remove the exhaust vent hose.

4. Locate and loosen all the screws from the perimeter of the dryer back panel.

5. Remove the back panel of the dryer.

The air blower assembly and dryer vent chute are located on the left hand side (as viewed from the rear of the dryer). Remove the screws that hold the vent chute in place and you will be able to access anything that has fallen into it.

NOTE: Anything left in the vent can eventually get caught in the blower fan. So, it is important to retrieve anything caught in this area to prevent damage to the fan and to ensure the dryer ventilates properly.

If you have any questions about these procedures, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I need to change vent location from rear to side. Should I remove the back of dryer for access? If not how best do I change the vent location? I have purchased 4'' duct pipe + elbow from hardware store.

Turn off the power. You will have to remove the top panel. Remove the front panel. Remove the belt. Remove the drum. This will give you access to the location for side venting.

We have just purchased a Lg Dryer #DLE1310W which which is yet to be delivered. I have 2 questions: 1. The electrician needs to know if the dryer cord is a 3-prong or 4-prong cord. He is installing the...

lg driers are a 3 prong drier cord receptical he shouldn't have to purchase any other venting as long as the location of the dryer is not in an oddball place The parts included are for basic installation in an area such as the garage or room connected to the garage where the access to the outside is just through a outer wall. Mrs. Leonard good luck on your repairs and hope I helped you some.
