Hi

This problem is with the memory card. You will need to format it and see if this helps. First transfer any existing pictures that you want to save onto your computer then go into settings and select the format option. This will erase all data from the card and 'reset it'.

You should also check in the settings menu for the default camera settings and select this to return your camera to original factory settings.

Be aware - if you have used this memory card with another camera or as an example stored MP3s or other file formats on the card this can also cause the problem to occur.

To clarify - If you have stored MP3s or other file types which have created a read problem with the camera - or there is a bad sector on the card the formatting of the card will most often (but not always) resolve the issue. If this fails - then the card is malfunctioning and will have to be replaced.

The camera stores the pictures in a JPEG format only. You can use .jpg files in most image editing programs. Videos are stored in a .mov format that you can view with QUICKTIME software or KODAK Picture Software.

* What you can do is transfer the pictures to your computer and check the file format
* You can delete photo then just take a photo again.

Unrecognized file format means the file format of the picture in the camera is not JPEG or the memory card is faulty

Kodak easyshare c1013 lens stuck out ... how to rectify it ?

Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct your problem. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them:
And here's a video summary of the steps:

I am having a problem transfering pictures from my Kodak EasyShare C1013 camera to the computer.........any suggestions, it will transfer a few but not all the pictures. Thank You

The easiest and fastest way to transfer pictures/videos from your camera is by removing the SD card from your camera and insert it into a SD card reader. You can buy card readers at any computer stores at cheap prices. You insert the SD card into a card reader and then you insert the card reader into a free USB slot on your computer and then you can copy ALL your files then wherever you want.

Thanks for using Fixya!

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

It sounds as if the card was not formatted for the camera before it was put to use. My suggestion is that you attempt to download the images that you do have to the computer, then format the memory card. Always format a new card and after each time you download pictures from the card to the computer.

My Kodak EasyShare C1013 keeps telling me that the memory card is protected and to reset switch on memory card. How do I reset memory card?

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

How to reset kodak c1013 , when i put memory card they says formate memory card after formating same message againplease help

Hello

#1 Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
# 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
# 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
# 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
# 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
# 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
