I got the convergence amps from www.electronix.com for $10 each, plus a couple bucks for some heat sink compound. I also purchased a good quality solder and a solder sucker while I was there. It's a good outfit and they were very responsive.

For the 60pp9202, you'll want to purchase two STK392-120. Just go to www.electronix.com and search for the part and it'll take you riht to it. Be sure you purchase or have some heat sink compound too! You'll also need a low wattage solder pencil, solder sucker, and good quality solder, which you can also pick up there if you don't already have. If you need further tips on this task, let me know.

I just did it myself and it ran about $80. Make sure you get the IC's (2) and I would replace the 12 resistors.

Im looking for a projection alighment chip for 60pp9202/17f phillips

you will require two of the STK392-120 Convergence ICs and possibly the 6.8 ohm resistors. The Phillips DPTV305 - DPTV335 convergence repair kit available from www.tvrepairworld.com has the two ICs and the 12 resistors plus the CD with repair instructions.

I have a phillips 60PP9202 60 the blue convergence going down doesnt work it goes so far and it stops like it reached its. limit

xlt1873,

Since you can move your beams but not far enough the convergence ICs are good. Your porblem is with the digital convergence box. You will need to replace it.

I have a tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4273935-replace_digital_convergence_box which will help you complete the reapair.

Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating!!

I have a phillips 60 inch projection tv double picture

Yes its the convergence ICs. You will need ywo STK392-120 ICs and about six of the 6.8 ohm 1watt metal resistors to repair the issue. You can get replacement ICs and resistors at the following link and they will provide free instalation instructions with pictures so you can easially do the repair yourself and save about 400.00. Here is the link.

Do not adjust any knobs as instucted in the previous thread if you TV have a convergence problem. Doing so will only make things worse. The blog does however show you how to fix other common problems with these sets.

Here are some of the most common symptoms and example photos of a convergence problem

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the tv settings then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move them up, down, left, and right.

If you can't move them in all directions your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

You need to replace the convergence chips and convergence resistors. Check the site www.TvRepairKits.com. They have put together a kits for most models. If you don't see a kit for your set send them a quick note and they will put one together for you. Their kits include a photo instruction guide, original OEM Sanyo STK chips, convergence resistors, pico fuses, etc.
