Intel 101ggc comos checksum error

you can change BIOS battery this may be due to the fact that the battery powering the CMOS (when the computer is shut down it allows the CMOS to store information), is depleted. The CMOS battery is a small pin found on the motherboard; you can refer to the manual provided with your motherboard to change it.

I have an intel g41 motherboard....every time i switchon d pc...it shows check cmos error and the time and date are set to defaluts

This error occurs when the BIOS battery is flat. Replace the BIOS battery, most motherboards use a lithium battery type CR2032, this is a coin size battery. Check the BIOS battery type used on your motherboard before you purchase the battery.
After replacing the battery go to the BIOS setting and set the Date & Time etc. and you will not have this CMOS error.

I started my pc with no software and os loaded and I got the message: WARNING: CMOS checksum Error My motherboard is: DH61BE and the bios ver. is BEH6110H.86A.0020.2011.0218

This is an error that occures when the BIOS has lost the CMOS settings. This usually happens if the CMOS battery has drained completely.
The solution is to first try to reload CMOS settings. you can do this by pressing DEL at startup and getting into BIOS. then find the "reset to defaults" setting and reset the CMOS settings. This should solve the problems.
If that doesnt help, then you would have to change the CMOS batter on your motherboard. This is a quite simple task. It is a standard battery and is quite cheap.
Also some motherboards have a CMOS battery connector jumper, refer to your motherboard manual and check if you have this and reset it.
These are all simple tasks, but get someone to help you if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself.

Reset password

All mother board has a CMOS, complementary metal oxide semiconductor, battery. The main purpose for the CMOS battery is to store the system time, date and bios settings even if the computer is turned off or the main battery dies.

Turn off the computer (laptop) unplug it. Remove the Phillips screws that secure the motherboard cover then release the cover from the clips on the bottom of the plastic casing. Lay the cover aside then locate the CMOS battery cable on the right side of the motherboard. Unplug the cable then remove the battery. After a few minutes plug the CMOS battery into the motherboard... Replace the screws then turn the computer (laptop) back over. The CMOS battery is unplugged for more than a few minutes your BIOS will be reset to the default manufacturer settings.

Motherboard not booting and showing F4 cmos/cnpv msg showing what is the problem

If showing a cmos problem, try pulling out the cmos battery (round circle battery) on the motherboard and wait 30 seconds, then place the battery back in. If you can't get to the bios still, then go out and buy a new cmos battery, or order from a site such as newegg.com

Manual reset motherboard: Soyo SY-K7VME

Bios settings are retained by the Motherboard Battery in the CMOS. Disconnecting the battery clears CMOS and returns the settings to their original state. Typically this can be done by simply removing the CMOS battery and waiting about 15 seconds before reinserting and booting PC. Nowadays most Motherboard manufacturers supply a jumper to not only disconnect the battery but also ground the CMOS to effectively drain any residual power.

The instructions for your MB are found below. JP5 is located to the left of the battery and next to the PCI 2 slot on your MB. There is a Manual for your MB on this site and the MB layout can be found at

http://www.fixya.com/support/p281070-soyo_sy_k7vme_motherboard/manual-35533/page-5

Follow the steps below to clear the CMOS memory.

1. Clear the CMOS memory by momentarily shorting pin 2-3 on jumper JP5. Its white cap can easily identify this jumper.

2. Put the jumper back to 1-2 to allow writing of new data into the CMOS memory.

CMOS Battery do no work

Just change your CMOS battery with a new one and after that goto the bios settings and update the time and dare.
After that just save the settings and then check that the warning message is coming or not.

If its coming then it means you need to change the CMOS jumper settings.
