I would be very surprised if you have a phono input on your sound card. What you need is a phono preamp because the signal level coming from your t.table is too low for the line input,You can find it in any electronic supplier like radio shack. Have fun

I have a JVC turntable and an old Sansui reciever. Last night I was playing a record, and it stopped playing out of one speaker, and makes a loud buzzing noise. However, when I push the Mono button

You should check the connections to the turntable, it sounds like it might be feedback hum, caused by a wire touching or something like that. Don't forget to check the connections to the cartridge too.

Have you though of using a pre-amp? You'll probably need to go turntable --> pre-amp --> soundcard input to get acceptable sound

Stanton Turntable Problem with receiver/audio

You need a turntable pre-amp, or a receiver with turntable inputs.. The turntable is functioning properly, until recently no turntable had this built-in. Search ebay for turntable pre-amp and you should be good.

Old turntable works but is too quiet to hear

It sound like you may have to hook your turntable up to a phono input. Turntables have low level outputs. The phono input is designed to amplify this low level more than the cd/dvd inputs do. If you do not have a phono input, you can buy an external "phono preamp" online. Hope this helps.

Technics SL-L3 turntable no sound until warm up

either the cartridge is bad in the phonograph tone arm.  Or the pre-amp in the stereo is bad...remember that the turntable is the only accessory that uses the pre-amp input on the stereo.  I'm betting the pre-amp is bad.
