Tosheba Gigabeat Erased my pictures.

I just got back from my vacation and went to upload my pictures to my computer from my Gigabeat. When I attached the Gig to the computer the Gig read erasing hard drive. All of my pictures are gone!

Is their a way to retrieve those lost pictures?

I will give it a try, but I have already tryed mediaRECOVERY and CardRecovery.

  • timwingate Jan 21, 2008

The problem is the same one I had with other undelete products. They can't detect the Gigabeat as a hard drive. I need a product designed to work with the Microsoft portable windows media center appliances.

  • timwingate Jan 21, 2008

NO, like the other undelete programs I tried, it can't see the hard drive on the Gigabeat. I need to find something that see the HD on the gigabeat.

  • timwingate Jan 21, 2008

The problem is the recovery programs don't see the gigabeat s as a hard drive. If I could mount it like an external hard drive I think it would work.

  • timwingate Jan 21, 2008

It sees it as a folder but it doesn't assign it a drive letter

  • timwingate Jan 21, 2008

    I already tried that.

  • timwingate Jan 21, 2008

Thanks for your help. I will continue to pound on it a little longer, but I am coming to the realization that the data can't be retrieve short of physically removing the drive and sending it in.

You can try using tuneup utilities download it from here
www.phazeddl.com it has a scraper undelete utility that will scrape for any remaining data and try to recreate it..

Install it on your system, connect your mp3 player and run it on your mp3 player

i said you in beginning itself.. that the data cant be retrived.. comeon man.. its not any harddrive to do so.. also the way in which the data was removed makes me think that..

Data erased - can I get it back?

Usually, these will hold the memory for up to a week after the battery dies. However, if you were gone 2 weeks and it's forgotten everything, I'm afraid it's just gone. There is no permanent memory storage to restore it from.

Sorry for the bad news.

Uploading video to computer from Kodak MX1063

Check the format of your video file, it may be hidden if it has different file extension for which your computer does not have the application to view.

Regarding your files got deleted, you might selected the option to move the files from your camera to your computer instead of copy the files.

Hope this helps.

I just got back from my first cruise and took so many pictures. I don't have a USB so I went to go place the memory card into my computer but it won't read the card. So when I put the memory card back into...

i know its not ideal but why dont you borrow a friends camera and usb lead, put your card into their camera and upload them onto your computer via their camera, at least then you can save your special pictures and rectify the problem later
