Re: linkys

Hello, Anytime windows gets stuck "aquireing the connection" there is usually a security key thats not entered correctly. Do you know if you configured your wireless network for "wpa" or "wep" ? If so, we need to get that setup on your Laptop.

My linkys e1000 is connected to my desktop internet, but not my laptop. how do I get that to work?

If you connect the computer to the router , it works.
That means the wired connection is OK.
Open the set up page of the router check the wireless settings of the router.
I think your network is secured and you are not typing the correct network key.
just open the router set up and check the wireless settings .
Make sure that the DHCP server on the router is enabled

I need help with connecting on my laptop with linky's router.

If you can get to using a working computer or the laptop you want to connect to the router using a wired connection first. Username should be left blank and password is "admin". On the Wireless page of the router, change the SSID or name of your wireless network to any name you choose. For the security you may select anything that your laptop supports. Remember that any key that you type in is the same as the wireless setting of the laptop. Then save the setting. You may also need to unplug and plug again the power of the router.

Wireless signal low

Get a better wireless router.

Change the location your using your laptop in.

Google your problem with hack as a keyword to read about how people can use woks to increase signal strength but watch out for laws about radiation and frequencies.

Consider getting a booster to relay your signal.

Check for wireless phones or radios, pay TVs etc. that could be affecting your signal.

I cant get my laptop to connect to the internet, I don't know if is a router problem or the notebook card.

Make sure that you have the correct card for your wireless network. Ususally when you get network cards from people like at&t, you pay for it monthly, which you get the wireless signal from a satilitte. Since it ins;t working, you should return it or have them repair it until it works.
