Question about Samsung LN-S4051D 40 in. LCD Television
I have a Samsung 42 in Plasma Tv just 1 year old. Thank God I purchased the extended warranty. For 1 year the TV worked fine, however just 7 days past the manufacture warranty the TV began to show Blue Streaks alone the top and left edges, also a blue circle about 5 inces wide in the center of the screen. This blue would never show up when first turning the tv on, be never fails to appear after being on for 20 minutes.
Extended warranty sent out the first company, and replaced the something called the "Scan Board" this was done in my home. Needless to say the tech left and after the TV warmed up the same problem occured.
I called the warranty company again, This time they sent out a Different company, which picked up the TV on Monday, and returned it one day later on tuesday.
This is what the ticket say they did. "adjusted V.S. Voltage"
Here are my questions for you.
(1) Is this a temporary fix?
(2) If the TV worked fine for 1 year, how is it possible for it to get out of adjustment all by it self.
I ask these questions because the picture does not look the same. It is true the blue streaks are gone but the pitcure doe snot look the same, The picture is not as sharp as it was, and it is not as bright.
Please give me your opinion.
VS is vertical scan of course it is controlled by applying voltage, lower or higher you affect the scan, it appears as focus or sharpness, if it is outside the specifications listed on the back cover(inside) then it will not function properly. definitely get with samsung on this and get a ticket number so they can not just blow you off, if you have an extended warranty they might have to replace the tv as this sounds like it may be a tube issue not just a scan issue, also don't let the tech leave until the tv has warmed up and the image is either the way you like it of he stays.
