I AMHAVING MICROSOFT 2003 WORD IT DOES NOT CHECK SPELLING. HOW TO MAKE IT CHECK SPELLING.

Select some text in the document that contains a known mispelling. Under Tools > Language, look at the box for "do not check spelling or grammar." If
it is gray or checked, uncheck it. Run the spell check.

This is a text-specific setting, like bold or italics. It does not apply to
a computer, an instance of Word, or even an entire document. This is
different from the setting under Tools > Options > Spelling and Grammar,
which applies to all documents opened (but does not override the
text-specific settings).

If this is the problem, you can clear the problem up by selecting your
entire document (Ctrl-A) and unchecking the box.

Please, if the problem continues, use Office update, or re-install the product.
Good luck!

How do you type things and use spell cheack?

i will give you instructions

Instructions
  1. Select the text you want to spell check, or place the cursor anywhere in the text to spell check the entire document.
  2. Go to the Tools menu.
  3. Select Spelling and Grammar. The Spelling and Grammar window opens, and Word begins spell checking.
  4. View any flagged words or phrases in the upper-left window. Just above this window, you will see the reason Word has flagged this text.
  5. Check the Suggestions window in the lower-left corner of the Spelling and Grammar window for correction suggestions.
  6. Click the Change button to make the suggested correction.
  7. Click Change All if you want all instances of this error corrected within the text that you are spell checking.
  8. Enter your own change if you disagree with the suggested correction (or if there is no suggestion) by placing your cursor in the flagged text window and correcting the text as you would in any Word document.
  9. Click the Change button to implement your correction.
  10. Click Ignore if no correction is needed; click Ignore All to skip all further occurrences of this "misspelling."

jj505,

I just typed the following:

This is just a clarifikation to see if the spell check is wurking.

The spell check underlines the incorrect words with a red wavy line. When you click on the line/word, it will list other suggestions.

I might add...if you click the Spell check button again, it resets. You have to click it again.

Spell check

Hi,

Open MS Word and click on the Office logo in the top left hand corner, now click on word options and now click on the "Proofing" tab on the left - Now make sure your screen looks like the one below, if it doesn't put the ticks in the relevant boxes and click ok. Then restart word and type and it will correct as you type - If it doesn't then the Dictionaries are wrong, but we can sort that out.

Cheers
