Question about LG 42LG50 42 in. LCD HDTV
LED? or the IR sensor?
LED is a light bulb in short terms or a light emitting diode witch has nothing to do with your set all togeather.
First clean off the senor with a dap of alchol, try changing the battery if your using a cable box remote call charter for the correct remote codes for your TV.
I think your technition may have been under the influence or just not educated to tell you the remote codes or just did not want to set this up for you!
Ether way do as i suggested call them and ask them for the remote code booklet if your using the remote control from the cable box to control your tv. You be glad you did.
