Question about HP Compaq StorageWorks DAT 72 (Q1528-60001) DAT Tape Drive
Cleaning cartridges do not actually 'clean' the head, they moove dirt from the surface of the head into small channels, therefore if the tape drive is asking for more than one clean in a row you either have a faulty head, or it needs to be taken to a pro fix shop for manual cleaning. drives should not need more than one clean every few months.
