Question about Sony SDM-HS75P/S 17" LCD Monitor
I have inherited a Sony SDM-HS75 LCD monitor that refuses to turn on. When pressing the power button, nothing happens. There are no lights, no high pitched sound from the inverter board, nothing. The problem started when the monitor was unplugged and moved to another computer. This screen did have a history of turning black for a second or 2 randomly as these models seem to do.
I have visually inspected all the barrel capacitors on the power supply board and main board. I am not ruling out a bad capacitor, but none of them are bulging. I have confirmed that the button itself is getting power and is shorting when pressed like it should.
Any help, suggestions, schematics, diagrams, or repair manuals would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

It's funny when reading sweetanne post on her Sony LCD SDM-HS73 Monitor which I also have ,I could copy her word for word ( I own a Sony LCD SDM-HS73 Monitor, its almost 4 years old. Never had any problems with it until now. When my computer has been turned off for awhile, and I turn it back on, the monitor green light comes on, but the screen is black. I have to uplug the monitor from the power supply, and when its plugged back in, everything is fine. ) Only mine does come on but it takes anywhere up to 15 minutes to come on and I've noticed with the green power light on I cant press to shut off unless I'm shutting the computer off.. Sony was no help gave me a number to call so I called it and yes up to $200 to fix if they can so for the time I will just have to put up with this. :-(

Under the menu options, there's Menu Lock. Switch it to "On". It worked for me.
My menu button wasn't working, so to access the menu, I had to hold down the arrow up button and push the arrow down button till I got to the Menu Lock Option.
