Blue Screen and Shutoff Problem

Tv turns on for a few seconds. Turns to a blue screen, and shuts itself off. I see that this has been an issues for some others and im intersted in solving. Question is where to get replacement CRTs. Are there after market dealers? If not, I'm open to advice on rebuilding them.

Re: Blue Screen and Shutoff Problem

It may be something as minor as a transistor or resistor in your blue drive circuitry and not your tube.CRTs are very expensive. You can get a fullservice manual along with unlimited support for only 10.99 at the following link. If you click on their contact us link and provide your email they will send the manual out along with instructions on how to obtain your free support for your model. Hope this helps. heres the link.

My Sony KP-53S35 turns on, shows a blue screen, turns off

It sounds like the blue CRT (picture tube) is failing. The part number for this is 8-733-575-25 but you will need a technician to replace it for you as there is mechanical and electrical alignment to with with it. At that point it probably isn't cost effective to repair the TV. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thank you.

RCA D52W20 - turns on and off, blue screen, tech said need picture tube

It very well could be the Blue CRT shorting out. However the not shutting off is not a symptom of the tube being shorted that sounds more like a signal board issue rather than a picture tube, as the signal board can cause all the symptoms you have described.

Error Code 5 flashes when unit shuts down

Good Day;
It sounds like the TV may have a shorted CRT, picture tube, but let's trouble shoot:
1. Unplug TV from wall.
2. Remove speaker grill, two on bottom, the screws are covered with plastic caps, right and left side on bottom next to floor.
3. Remove inner panel.
4. The blue tube is the one the right side, remove socket, with phillips driver, make sure it's not touching anything.
5. Plug and turn TV back on, if picture appears with no blue it's the tube.
6. If still shuts down, bad blue CRT driver IC.
CAUTION: Call a factory authorized service dealer to give you an estimate, if this sounds too hard.
Good Luck, Day, Big Irish.

Sony KP-51HW40 51 in. Rear Projection turns blue

First reduse the G2 voltage for the blue c.r.t,and watch if the unit works for longer period (offcource blue colour will be not present). After reducing G2 voltage to blue c.r.t still behaves the same than c.r.t is faulty and you have to replace.
Pls count the red led blinking when it goes off, incase it goes to std by mode.

TV Problem with shutting off by itself

Mine just did the same thing.  Except for it was green instead of blue.  The service manual states 8 flashes from the light stands for an overvoltage.  After reading the manual for a bit I realized the bottom row of 3 adjuster screws from behind the speaker grill adjust the output for the red, green, and blue colors.  BEFORE OPENING ANY TV OR MONITOR PLEASE KNOW THAT THE VOLTAGE INSIDE CAN KILL YOU EVEN IF UN-PLUGGED so please be careful and only adjust what is mentioned here.  I un-plugged the tv, removed the grill and the board covering the internals, and carefully turned the 3 adjustment screws all the way down.  I then waited about 10 minutes (don't know if this made a difference).  I turned on the tv, turned the channel to an auxilary input (for a black screen), and slowly raised each of the 3 bottom screws one by one up clockwise until i could see a faint green, blue, or red line (depending on the screw), and then turned each one back a hair until the screen was black again.  Only adjust one at a time, the order for colors are blue, green, then red from the left.  I hope this fixes your problems.  Be careful when working inside a tv,  I suggest not using a screw driver to adjust the screws due to the possibility of it slipping and someone getting hurt.

On/Off Tv

The first suspect on a LCD projection if yours is a KF50WE610 is the lamo itself. The second issue with the blue line is a possible bad LCD panel. There is NO convergence settings on a LCD set.
