Monitor has gone to power saving mode

Hello, The reason your monitor switched to power saving mode is because the operating system on your computer told it to. A computer left on and unattended is programed to sleep/hibernate after usually a short period of time. Without going to in depth, There are stages of sleep and after time the hibernation deepens. However, moving the mouse or pressing a key should take it out of sleep. Microsoft has a support page for this issue: Good Day

When I turn the monitor on I get a message "In

Most Dell LCDs have multiple inputs and they will go into "standby" while waiting for a signal from your PC. This happens when your PC goes into "sleep" mode or if you are sure your PC is not in "sleep" mode then usually the LCD is not in the correct input selection. Check the input selection for the appropriate input. As always, make sure the cables are securely connected. Hope this helps.

When the screen is not used for a little while it goes in the sleep mode and I have to turn it off and back on. Is this normal

Normally a monitor will come out of sleep mode merely by moving the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard. It all has to do with your power settings. If in Windows, click on START/ControlPanel/Power Your Power settings determine how long your monitor stays on as well as hard drive disks when computer is idle. Just select a longer period of time or "Never" for monitor shut off settings.

Stuck in sleep mode

Make sure all of the fans on your computer are free from dust and dirt. Unplug the computer from the mains and open the casing, hoover away any dust and dirt, then take out clean and resit your RAM and your Graphics card.

This could be caused by dirty RAM, dirty Graphics or just a build up of dust causing it to overheat.

I hope this helps
