Question about HP Pavilion dv1000 Notebook

2 Answers

Blue-screen crashes I have a hp pavilion dv1000 that keeps crashing after about ten fifteen minutes of use. It shows a blue screen with white writting indicating that it is dumping memory and then crashes. Usually when it attempts to reboot right after it is unable to and I have to wait around 20 minutes before trying to reboot. When it was still under warranty I took it in to be repaired and the system board was replaced. It worked fine for a bit after that, then started running really slow alll of a sudden and started crashing again. Reformatting didn't do any good either. Any suggestions?

Re: blue-screen crashes

I just had this problem too, I had to replace the hard drive ($94) and lost everything. easy fix though.

Hello I have an acer aspire 5535 and it keeps

The complete solution to this fault (Acer 5535 keeps crashing under vista) is to use Windows XP instead of Vista. Set up a Dual Boot so you can CHOOSE to load XP or Vista each time you turn on the laptop. I've put XP on my 5535 and it's SO much faster and seems perfectly stable now - no crashing at all.

A full video showing how to do this is here:

Once you've done this you won't have any problems with the laptop anymore.
This is a perfect solution to the crashing problem!

My computer (HP Pavilion Entertainment laptop) keeps giving me a blue screen saying it is "crash dumping". This happens mainly when I try and download something. It won't allow me to download any...

This could be caused by a corrupted operating system, a virus or a faulty memory card. You may first try to restore your computer to a date when you think it last allowed you to download something. See if it works.

To run system restore, go to start>all programs>accessories>system restore.

Hi, do u get a blue screen afterwards or its not, anyway i think its a driver crash, what u can do is when the almost reaching the windows logo, continuously press F8 and select safe mode. then uninstall the wireless drivers or start in normal mode and switch of the wireless with a command (fn + ***)or a little switch on the laptop. then disable the wireless can from the device manager and then uninstall them. But please in case that doesnt work, give us the full info of you laptop, eg OS, model, and if possible any new changes you made before that happened.

HP Pavilion laptop freezes daily and i force manual shutdown

It sound's like there could be a compatibility problem, maybe corrupt file's, or missing start up file's, have you tried doing a window's update, or doing a disc check on the hard drive, go to my computer right click the drive then go to propertie's, click on tool's then click check now for drive error's. if that do'es not work you may need to reformat back to the original xp os.

Toshiba A105-S2101 keeps crashing!

Sounds like a memory 'leak'. Just because it's the 'correct' memory, doesn't mean it's not faulty. I would have them exchanged.

You can run a Microsoft memory diagnostic program to determine is they are faulty.

The software is free from Microsoft from here:

Also, always try to stick with a 'known' brand (kingston, samsung, etc).
