Turning on, crashing ans screen

My latop had alot of problems and had been wiped with a new version of xp,, but sometimes it crashes.. it says memory dump and then reboots. also when i turn it on it sometimes says x-erom error and is trying to read something it cant , only way to solve it is to unplug the powere cord and keep rebooting, another is the screen seems to have a very loose wire , it blanks out and i have to tilt it right bk a few times to make it come back....and the last is if my laptop is loading,, it just crashes and reboots,,and i lose alot of work.. anyway to stop any of this ?? I have a hp pavilion dv1000 that keeps crashing after about ten fifteen minutes of use. It shows a blue screen with white writting indicating that it is dumping memory and then crashes. Usually when it attempts to reboot right after it is unable to and I have to wait around 20 minutes before trying to reboot. When it was still under warranty I took it in to be repaired and the system board was replaced. It worked fine for a bit after that, then started running really slow alll of a sudden and started crashing again. Reformatting didn't do any good either. Any suggestions?

Toshiba Satellite Pro P35-S605 beeps upon power up then crashes and reboots.

Can you get into Safe Mode? I suspect your configuration needs tweeking.

Also I would immediately go into the Bios and make the boot order be CD, HD.. etc. Also make note of any hidden partitions such as H, or K. Those sometimes house a mirror of the factory version of XP... like when it was new.

Good luck

Disk Crash!

Borrow an operating system disk from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker to reinstall windows. Just borrow the version that your Certificate of Authentication (COA) sticker on the bottom of the laptop says. Also make sure you can read the Product Key Code on the COA. Also get the product key code for the disk you borrow because sometimes during installation or activation it will ask for the Key that is on your sticker, and sometimes it wants the key from the installation disk.

Just make sure you borrow the same version of windows that your COA says is installed on your system otherwise you'll have problems activating it.

Hello I have an acer aspire 5535 and it keeps

The complete solution to this fault (Acer 5535 keeps crashing under vista) is to use Windows XP instead of Vista. Set up a Dual Boot so you can CHOOSE to load XP or Vista each time you turn on the laptop. I've put XP on my 5535 and it's SO much faster and seems perfectly stable now - no crashing at all.

A full video showing how to do this is here:

Once you've done this you won't have any problems with the laptop anymore.
This is a perfect solution to the crashing problem!

Computer froze

Yes, it does. Try this:
How to Repair Install: ***Also removes Service Packs***
Sometimes the only way to repair XP is to reinstall. You do not have to wipe your partition and start over. Just as with previous versions of Windows you can reinstall right over top of an existing setup. This has the advantage of retaining your installed applications, data and settings. You will lose previously saved System Restore Points but System Restore will begin creating new restore points again immediately following the Repair Install. You will need to reinstall SP2 and any Critical Updates from the Windows Update Site. Be aware that a Repair Install will leave your system vulnerable to the Blaster and Welchia worms. Do not go on line until you have enabled XP's firewall first. Then visit the Windows Update Site to patch your system It is always prudent to backup important data before you make changes to XP.
There are two approaches. The first one should be used if you can still boot to your Windows Desktop. Simply pop the XP CD into the CD-Rom drive and select Install->Upgrade[recommended]. This will install XP overtop of itself in the same way as upgrading from a previous setup. However if your version is an OEM version then you will not have this option. If you do not see the option to Upgrade[recommended] DO NOT choose New Install as that will either overwrite your current setup completely or give you a dual boot setup. Also if you have an older version of XP and have upgraded to a new service pack you will get a message stating that a newer version of Windows was found and you will not be able to run the Upgrade. Create a Slipstream version to solve this problem
If you cannot boot to the Desktop, or you have an OEM version of XP, or you want to remove a service pack then the following should be used to complete a Repair Install.
Boot with the Windows XP CD and at the Setup Screen press the Enter Key
You will be taken to the Windows XP Licensing Agreement. After reading the agreement press F8 to proceed.
setup02.jpg The next screen gives you the option to do a fresh (clean) install or to repair the selected Windows XP installation. To run a Repair Install Press "R" at this time.
***CAUTION*** if you do not see the option to repair the selected Windows XP installation DO NOT choose the option to continue installing a fresh copy without repairing as that will overwrite your data and cause unrecoverable data loss.
setup03.jpg Windows XP will copy the necessary files to your Hard Drive to begin the installation and will then reboot. You will see the message that informs you to "Press any key to boot the CD". Do not press any keys this time just wait a few seconds and the Windows Startup Screen will be displayed. Following this you will be greeted by the Windows XP Setup Screens.
setup05.jpg rc%20017.jpg setup06.jpg When Setup has completed you should find all of your previously installed apps and settings are intact.

Toshiba A105-S2101 keeps crashing!

Sounds like a memory 'leak'. Just because it's the 'correct' memory, doesn't mean it's not faulty. I would have them exchanged.

You can run a Microsoft memory diagnostic program to determine is they are faulty.

The software is free from Microsoft from here:

Also, always try to stick with a 'known' brand (kingston, samsung, etc).
