If it is a pop-off then you can pry the back off. If it is a screw offl, with three indentations on the case back, then you really need a tool for that. Best to go to a shop and have them do it.

How to re-close the back plate on a Dakota time/date warch?

Some of these watches have a notch where the stem goes. If you don't have the back in place it will not snap back into place. Also some are a slight screw back and will snap off, but when putting them back you must kind of screw it back in place. Good luck.

Can't get the back on

Set the watch face down on a soft cloth and place the case back on the watch. Line the small indent up on the case back with the indent in the side of the watch, and push down on the case back with both thumbs with even pressure. The cover should snap back into place.

Guess watch how to take back off to change battery

You must first determine if the watch has a screw down back or snap off back. The top picture is a scre down back and the bottom is a snap off. If it is a screw down back you will need a watch case back opener to open. If is is a snap off you need to look around the back and find the little notch. you can then take something like a butter knife insert the edge between the case back and the case and snap the back off.

I have an Relic Fossil Brand Watch and I took the back Cover Off and I cant Get the **** thing back on.. how do you put the back of it back on?...

try to press on as much around as you can then whatever area is still showing a gap gently push it on a corner of a desk ( be careful of crystal), but it sounds like you may not be able to get it back on. Watches need even pressure all the way around to put the backs back on this is done with a watch press. The watch press cups the crystal and applies even pressure to snap the back on. It sounds like you will have to go to your local jeweler. We use the watch press to put on about 75 percent of our backs! Fossil is especially known for difficult backs and crystals that easily break! although they are a nice looking watch!! hope this helps!!

How do i open the back of the watch to change the battey?

There are typically 2 ways to open the back of a watch. Some watches have a snap off cover, other are screwed on.
Snap On Somewhere around the perimeter of the back of the watch you will see a small crescent. This is the place where a small screwdriver can be inserted and twisted to remove the back.
To replace the back, simply position it evenly on the back of the watch and press.
Screw On Removing a screw on back is slightly more difficult. For these backs, there are typically a series of slots around the perimeter of the back of the watch. The best way to loosen the back is with a pair of needle nose pliers. Place the 2 tips of the pliers in slots on opposite sides of the back of the watch. Apply light but constant pressure and turn the back counter clockwise.
To replace the back, carefully replace the back with your fingers. Be sure the back is set correctly in the threads by turning the back slightly counter clockwise. When you feel the threads click into place, simply turn the back clockwise with your fingers to tighten. Once finger tight, once again use the needle nose pliers to tighten the back.

I have a small acqua watch and after replacing the CR1612 battery i can't seam to get the cover back on. there is no notch on the back cover so orientation may be a problem. the only markings on the back...

I suggest that arrow points to where the case back should be opened. Check if there are any writings on case back. When the watch's opened back is facing you (winder to the left), these letters should be normally readable (not upside down) with case back attached to watch. If there are no writings, check inside case back - there should be small groove on one side. This side should be aligned with the stem (the piece going from winder into watch).. Hard to say without seeing it, but hope it helps. Be aware: to fit the case back back on watch may require significant force.

How to open the back

Determine the type of case back on the watch. Set the watch face down on a soft surface and look at the back. If it has slots, it is defined as a screw-back case. If it is smooth, it is defined as a snap-back case.

To open a screw-back watch, use the metal blade of a standard screwdriver to turn the slots counterclockwise. A case-back wrench, which can be purchased at watch-repair stores, can also be used. Set the metal tips of the wrench into the back's slots and turn it counterclockwise to open.

For a snap back case, place the metal blade of a standard screwdriver in the indent between the watch and the case. Gently apply pressure to lift the case up and off of the watch.

Close the case back by setting it back onto the watch. For snap-back cases, line up the indent on the side of the watch and press gently on the case back to close. For screw-back cases, use the screwdriver blade or case-back wrench to turn the slots clockwise, thereby closing the case shut.

To replace the battery I popped the back panel with my pocket knife. Now I cannot get the back panel back on. Is there a secret, trick or method for getting this thing back together?

some case back fit really tight and can be a problem without the proper tools.
If the case back doesn't pop back on by pressing it with your finger you can tap it back on with a small wooden hammer, being careful not to break the crystal.
The other alternative is to use a case back press.

I cannot get the back of my Bulova watch back on. I popped it off to replace the battery however I cannot get the back back on!

Most Bulova Watches have PRESSURE TIGHT backs. Meaning the back is applied with EQUAL amounts of pressure to the entire back. There are two(2) solutions:

1. Take the Bulova watch to an experienced watch dealer/repaiman, to have the back applied, or

2. CAREFULLY MAKE SURE THE BACK IS IN THE PROPER POSITION, then WRAP THE ENTIRE watch with a soft, cushy clothe and with a pair of pliers, CAREFULLY apply pressure to the center of the back plate, until the back covers seats to the proper depth(closed), at the same time BEING VERY CAREFUL not to crack the watch crystal!!

How do you open the back of a movado watch

It could require several tools.

If it is a screw down back you will need a case-back opener (sold at Harbor Freight for $2.99). It is adjustable to fit most case backs. Make sure the wrench fits the notches on the back and rotate counter-clockwise
If it is a snap on case use a knife type case back opener.
Look for a small indention on the case-back that allows you to snap the back off. (some watches have the indention, some do not)
You need to be very careful not to scratch the back

You may need a case-back press to put the snap case back on. Some you can snap on with your fingers other will require the press.
