Yes you can, unfortunately you can not upgrade from 32bit to 64bit, you would need to do a fresh installation. Also your processor and motherboard need to support 64-bit architecture. If you start the installation for the 64bit if the architecture isnt supported it would notify you that the installation can not be completed with an error message.
Enjoy your copy of Windows 7 64-bit if it works.

Testimonial: "thanks, it's working fine, i just want to know will it run faster if i had 32 bit?"

64bit operatings are designed to run exceptionally better and faster than 32bit operating systems. Although the performance cruve will depend on the specifications of your computer but 64 bit operatings systems support up to 16gb of Ddr 2 and 3 where as 32bit can only support 4gb and only use 3.25gb out of the 4gb you install. So to answer your question you are better off with 64bit if it is working right now. A few upgrades will definately improve your performance . If you need to know anything more please feel free to ask.

All of that depends on the processor you are using. You need to know if it can emulate 64 bit or if it is a 64 bit (i.e. AMD chips). You would need to format your system and reinstall windows as 64 bit as you cannot upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit.

What should i download to get 32bit operating system software

What is the difference between 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows?
The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information.

The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system. How can I tell if my computer is running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version of Windows?

To find out if your computer is running a 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows in Windows 7 or Windows Vista, do the following:

1. Open System by clicking the Start button , right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties.

2. Under System, you can view the system type.

If your computer is running Windows XP, do the following:

1. Click Start.

2. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.

If you don't see "x64 Edition" listed, then you're running the 32-bit version of Windows XP.

If "x64 Edition" is listed under System, you're running the 64-bit version of Windows XP.

Sounds like you are attempting to install the 64 bit version on a 32 bit PC. You will need a 32 bit install disk.

Hi,
64 bit OS can run 32 bit software but if the software provider has a version for 64 bit it might require you to download this version ad prevent you from installing the 32 bit version.
Kind regards

What is the procedure to install a 32-bit softwares in to my laptop(windows 7,home premium,64-bit) ?

Most programs designed for the 32-bit version of Windows will work on the 64-bit version of Windows. Notable exceptions are many antivirus programs.
Device drivers designed for 32-bit versions of Windows won't work on computers running a 64-bit version of Windows. If you're trying to install a printer or other device that only has 32-bit drivers available, it won't work correctly on a 64-bit version of Windows.

Windows 7 64bit does run programs that will run on windows 7 32bit, see here

How Windows 7 / Vista 64 Support 32 bit Applications

BUT not ALL 32bit programs will run on Windows 7!!! There are many programs that will run on Windows XP and before that will not run on Windows 7. IF you had Windows 7 Pro version (or upgrade) there is a program you can download from Microsoft that will simulate an XP environment to allow programs to run called "XP MODE".
Try to install the 32bit software first. If installation not succeed, it would be better if you first look into a newer version of the program you want to run.You have to consider that a newer version of your program might not be that much more expensive than upgrading to pro, and with the newer version, usually comes newer features.

Hope this help and if helpful RATE please.

My hp p3015 is not installing on my window 7 pc

Hi there,

This might be because you are trying to install a driver off a disc which was created before Windows 7 and this means that the driver is probably for a version of Windows before Windows 7.

You can download the Windows 7 drivers from the official HP website. Please select your Operating System below:
- Windows 7 32-bit
- Windows 7 64-bit

If you do not know if your computer is 32 or 64 bit, go to "My Computer" and just bellow the navigation bar where it say "My Computer" click the tab which says "System Properties" and below the category "System" you will see it says "System Type", here is where you will find out if you are running 32 or 64 bit version of Windows 7.

Thank you for using FixYa! Have a nice day and please remember to rate this solution.

Warm regards,

Can i convert a 32 bit to a 64 bit

You can use the Upgrade option during Windows 7 installation, which preserves your files, settings, and programs, only if you're currently running a 32-bit version of Windows Vista and you want to upgrade to the 32-bit version of Windows 7. Similarly, if you are running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista, you can only perform an upgrade to a 64-bit version of Windows 7. For more information, go to Upgrading to Windows 7: frequently asked questions on the Windows website.
If you want to move from a 32-bit version of Windows to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 or vice versa, you'll need to back up your files and choose the Custom option during Windows 7 installation. Then, you'll need to restore your files and reinstall your programs. For more information about performing a custom installation, see Installing and reinstalling Windows 7‍.

  • To install a 64-bit version of Windows 7 on a computer running a 32-bit version of Windows, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using a 64-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files.
  • If you start your computer using a 64-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files, but your computer isn't capable of running a 64-bit version of Windows, you'll see a Windows Boot Manager error. You'll need to use a 32-bit Windows 7 installation disc or files instead.
  • Windows Easy Transfer can't transfer files from a 64-bit version of Windows to a 32-bit version of Windows. If you're running a 64-bit version of Windows Vista but you plan to install a 32-bit version of Windows 7, you can move your files to an external location manually or use Backup and Restore in Windows Vista. For more information, go to Back up your files and
