46" Rear Projection Hitachi - Green / Yellowish Screen

Hello - A couple of days ago, I noticed a change in the color of my 46" Hitachi Rear Projection TV. It is about 3 years old... Where there used to be white, the screen is showing a yellowish tone, and is somewhat green in some areas as well. I have no idea what would be causing this, from what I read, a bad green CRT - so I am wondering if there is something I can try to help fix the issue?

any help would be appreciated...

I have a similar problem with same model. Suddenly, the colors that it has are very dark, the brightness is turned way up, and items that should be white, have a green hue to them. Darker scenes are unviewable. Any idea of what is wrong with it?

DaveT29 - I had my brightness cranked, too. The picture went dark and off-color after moving the TV from one corner of the living room to another.

After waiting for the TV repairman for about 4 weeks, I "fixed" it myself. Take the front panel off (4 screws, then a black panel) and blow out all the dust. I was afraid to use a swiffer duster because of the static electricity, so i just used with my mouth blowing powers.

That's it. Seriously.
