Question about HP Compaq ProLiant 6000 Server

Compaq Proliant server... sort of... died

Well, I got this Compaq ProLaint 6000 server and it worked perfectly fine for like... a day. What happened was that I was moving the server to another room to connect it to the internet, but after that, it didn't boot up. Sure, it turned on, but it like froze or something and now it won't work. I was afraid that it had something to do with the power but when I moved it back it still didn't boot correctly. All it says on that little LCD screen is COMPAQ LCD Model # 56022 LCD Firmware 1.9, whereas it is supposed to say COMPAQ LCD and a selection to the main menu. I didn't break it or purposely hit it against anything while I was moving it. It just... stopped working. If anyone needs more info, just shoot me a text at puyopuyoson@gmail.com.

Hi My HP proliant dl360 G3 server reports an ok stauts on the cooling section of the system manager but for some reason the next day it reports an insuficient cooling problem and fan failure and reboots...

Hello,

From my experience, this is an indication that your fans need replacing. If your system manager is working properly, at night if your system is not use much, the manager will put the system in a low state of operation, almost like hybernation. When a request come in to 'wake-up' the system, the fans do not spin fast enough to cool your system properly thus the errors.

Replace the fans, recheck your settings in system manager making sure the manager software is monitoring the cooling and not the os. This should solve your issue.

Good Luck

My HP ProLiant ML350 G5 failed to boot to Windows. After showing Windows 2003 Server, blank screen comes up

There was a critical HP ProLiant ML350 G5 ROM BIO upgrade dated on 17 Aug 2010.
Please bookmark the bio update link HERE for reference.

====
Check your monitor Hz and display resolution setting.
Did you change any video driver or resolution before reboot?
If all else fail then swap in a simple S-VGA card and let Windows 2003 to sort out the 640X480 display mode.

I have HP PROLIANT DL 380 (G4). I removed hard disk. Its start and few seconds restart again. its happening continuously. Any solution.

need to provide moreinfo.
is the server (prolaint DL380) constantly rebooting within BIOS mode or has it got to the stage of running windows.
The other item not mentioned here, is, IF the raid controller has failed, you will not see any disks initializing and would cause the system to continually reboot.
If it is an internal raid controller, it is part of the motherboard, you will need to contact HP to have it replaced.

If an pci related array controller .. i.e. separate to the motherboard, this will need to be replaced to see the HDD's.
Either way sounds like a hardware issue. Best to liaise directly with vendor to have the faulty components replaced.

Do the server has an onboard Video disable the video in the BIOS setup insert another PCI Video card and check for the display , IF the PCI display is up then there could be a problem with Onboard card.

Proliant DL380 G4 server occasionally rebootes.

Try to update the firmwares. Maybe the threeshould of the fans are incorrect. A new firmware can correct this problem.
