Question about Televison & Video
Thanks for using FixYa. This has happened due to malfunction of either the vertical deflection system or the auto format switching circuits.
You’ll need to check the vertical module and re-solder the vertical IC pins, if doesn't work replace the vertical IC with a new one and check open resistor possible 1 ohm going to flyback section. There are several things that can cause it. It is not easy to fix this yourself, if you don’t have any experience in repairing TVs as there are a lot of parts that have to be removed before you can reach the components. Also check for loose connector cables or swollen/bulged capacitors.
