Question about Canon imagePROGRAF iPF8000 Printer
First before every print my ipf8000s beeps and The screen read something like the printhead R needs to be cleaned to ignore press online... I would clean it but nothing changed...so I just kept pressing online to ignore and it would print fine... I then uploaded firmware 1.39 and now it does not give me the option to press online to ignore the error... it tells me to clean the printhead r or replace..... I just began to use this printer around january and have already changed the printheads like 3 times.... the printhead isnt very old maybe, 4 months +/-.
what can I do besides wait for canon??
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Go to www.canontechsupport.com and follow the thread to get to the support for your mutifunction machine and error message. Removing all the tanks and reseating the printhead worked for me, although it appears it didn't work for others.
I carefully wiped some of the ink from the edges of the printhead assembly, but don't know if this really did anything. My 830 is about 18 months old and I have been using both Cartridge World and Canon ink tank replacements.

Hi follow the instructions as above...
ie Remove inks and print head...
Whilst Canon print head is out...
Use cotton wool and alcohol and clean electrical contacts on back of print head and where they make contact inside printer.
Then install print head and inks and test.
If it does not work you may need to replace print head.

try this link : I followed the directions and fixed the problem. the instructions that came with the new printhead weren't really complete.
Here's essentially all I did for my fix - Opened the printer top, turned the printer off. Removed the "bad" printhead, cleaned the metal contacts on the printhead and printer with windex. Closed the printer. Turned it on. waited for it to reset. Opened the printer. Turned the printer off again. Installed the printhead. Closed the lid. Plugged the printer in again. When it was ready I accessed the HP toolbox and alligned the printheads and cleaned the printheads. It worked. Here's a link with photos.

Open the front cover of the printer and replace the catridges. For more info, download the manual for the same from the vendor website.
Revert back for more assistance.
