Question about Washing Machines

3 Answers

My Hotpoint Aqualtis AQXXD169PM Washing Machine within 10 mins of starting comes up with an F7 fault. I have to switch it off at the mains to reset it. Once the wash cycle commences it will run for hours without switching to the spin cycle. We have to pause the machine and manually switch it over.

Unfortunately my machine will not switch on whilst holding the temperature button

  • philjbevan Nov 16, 2009

Thanks for the info so far but when the machine does run, why does it run through a full cycle without automatically switching to rinse and fast spin. It runs through the full cycle on wash until there is 1 minute left on the timer then it runs like this for hours if left unattended

Hi.

F7 means Heater relay stuck

Disconnect power by tripping the circuit breaker or unplugging the power cord. Wait two minutes and connect back.

If that does not fix the problem, then the heater relay must be replaced, after testing thermostat , element and pressure switch.

Regards.

It does not advance through the full cycle simply because the control board does not detect that water reached right temperature, and the the timer does not progress to spin part of the cycle .

After refusal the question will be passed to a different expert.

    Goodbye.

Hi
F7 means Heater relay stuck.
The door is locked in this fault mode, which denies the user access to the clothes, and prevents further use of the machine. This fault code can be cleared by the user.
1.Switch off the power using the 'MAINS ON/OFF' button.
2.Press and hold the 'Temperature' button.
3.Carry out the next three steps within 3 seconds.
4.Switch on the power.
5.Release the 'Temperature' button.
6.Press the 'Soil type' button.
7.Check that a message similar to "DIAGNOSTIC MODE 123F7F2F5V127" is displayed. If it is not, repeat from the beginning.
8.Switch off the power.
9.Switch on the power. The fault code should have cleared.

Hi,

This refers to Heater relay Stuck. You have a heating element controlled by a thermostat with power supplied from electronic pcb. The relay is attached to the PCB (printed circuit boar and therefore soldering in a new one or replacing the board. Check your element and thermostat for faults before replacing board or call in engineer who offers a free call and estimate service.

Let me know, if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

I have a Hotpoint Aqualtis wash/dryer which stopped working with a 'F12' fault. Now when I turn the socket on I get an immediate really loud whir/buzz.

possibly the main drive belt has either snapped or jumped off the pulley and this allows you to turn easily by hand the whir/buzz sounds like system in coming into play but with no belt to drive nothing more happens, the front lower portion of the machine could be the water pump working overtime unable to drain ???

Hotpoint aqualtis aqgd169s no power wont turn on not even had an error code come up

If the machine is dead, I would check the cable from the main boad leading to the front display on the door. Often the cableharness breaks at the hinge. (one of cables). If that is not the case, eather the main board or display board is dead.

The door of my washer hotpoint aqualtis won't close because the lock seems to be on. The washer cycles work fine but the door cannot be closed. What can I do?

The door lock is thermal, so simply switching off doesnt work.
Switch off at the power point for at least 10 min.
If still no good, replace the interlock.

Could it be that some liquid or cleaning fluid has got into the plastic membrane, if it has one, behind the switches? I had a microwave that did this once.

Hi we have a Hotpoint Aqualtis AQXXD169PM washuing machine that is approx 3 years old. It has worked fin until a day or so ago when taking out the washing it was still soaking wet. After investigation it...

Assuming that the pump is okay and water is draining properly,Could be the speed control module or motor brushes, normally they last around 5 years and wear out simple to fit , you could remove one from the motor to check that is not worn right down to Zilch,if these are okay then you may need an engineer,as this is quite an expensive part to fit,you could phone hotpoint they charge around 100GBP,to repair......Parts are supplied free of charge with a call out hence the £100...hope you get on ok...
