a) Enter an alternative network SIM card into your Samsung and reboot. The new network should be displayed in handset window. c) If the process is repeated with yet another alternative network SIM card, you may be requested to input a security or pin code to enable the use of the new SIM card. d) Enter 00000000 (8 zeros) which should enable the SIM to be accepted. e) Finally once again enter 00000000 (8 zeros) and this should permanently unlock the Samsung.

With regard to PIN Code, it is the code of your SIM card. (example: AT&T, Cingular, Vodafone, Globe, Smart etc.)
If ever you have no idea what it is or if you forgot it, you can contact your service provider for the PUK code wherein you can enter once you used all the chances to enter the PIN Code.
To make sure, if your N95 is unlocked, meaning you can use different SIM Card, try using another SIM card and it should work fine. However, if it asked for Phone Code, it means you need the Security Code of the Nokia N95 not the PIN Code.
PUK is not your phones code. its the sim code. if you enter three times wrong PIN number then the sim asks u for a PUK to unlock the sim card. if u enter 10 times wrong PUK code then your sim will get corrupted and u cant be use that sim anymore. to solve this problem. you have to contact the sim vendor or customer care to retrieve the code from them. u have to give 16 digit sim no: while they ask for conformation. after getting the PUK no. keep that Number in safe place for future use.....
after months without my n95 and hours of scannin the internet i have found the solution to the lock code!!!! if u hav totaly 4goten the code u will need to flash the fone but...... if like me you are 100% sure the code u keep entering is correct then here is how to fix it!!! when changing your code u would have enterd a 6 digit code and re-enterd it to make sure it is correct yes? all went fine! wen entering it again it faild? thats where the problem lies. enter only the the 1st 5 digits of ur code and all should be fine!! if this fails turn off ur n95. press and hold the green key, the # key and the 3 key all at the same time as turning the fone on. keep them held untill the the lock code needs to b enterd. then repeat the 5 digits of ur code. unfortunatly u will loose contacts and msgs etc but it works! have fun!
SIM pin code: This is a pin code that locks the sim card until you enter the correct code. This protects your account, even if your sim is put into another handset. To reset it, you need the PUK code: Pin Unlock Code (PUK) If you miss key (or forget) your SIM pin code, and enter the wrong one 3-5 times in a row, the SIM will lock up, and you’ll need to enter the PUK unlock code to release it. You should ask your Network Service Provider for this code when you need it. Don’t try to guess it, because after a few wrong guesses, the SIM card will be permanently disabled. Phone Security Code: This locks the handset, as opposed to the sim card. You can also set some handsets to only accept a “new” sim if the phone security code is entered. To reset it, you need the Master code code: Master Reset Code
Sometimes known as the Master Code, this allows you to unlock a handset if you have entered the Security Code wrongly too many times. Which is the one that you want?
