Broken lock on the door

From what you have described the spring from the latch is broken inside of the door and you are unable to close your Frigidaire dishwasher. You would need to disassemble the dishwasher in order to replace the latch or spring. This needs to be done by a professional technician as improper disassembly could results in personal injury. while holding the door handle up to open try to separate the fingers in the door latch if they wont separate.. the rods inside the door may have broken loose from the mechanism..this requires removal of the inner door panel to look at..

if you talking about door latch wont let door close.try to reset all door locks.first if you cant get door close.work unlock button with remote or door switch.then hold open door handle while you flat screw driver pull up latch in door latch should stay up so door will close.once get door close.try resetting all door locks by sitting inside vechicle with all doors close.remove key from ignition.open drivers door.wait 24 seconds.turn ignition switch on and back to lock position 3 times.press and release drivers door courtesy light 3 times.ensure doors lock and unlock.if not wait 40 seconds and repeat procedure.if this procedure fails. you have problem in the door latch and lock mechanism inside the door itself.

there is a switch in the door latch that tells the unit the door is closed so it can start to operate if there is a fault or a peace of the latch has broken off the unit will read door open check the latch for any broken off peaces if it looks good replace the inter lock unit on the machine

if it wont lock that means that its broken replace the whole latch. its easy just take the door panel off then take the linkages off the latch take out the two or three screws holding the latch on and pull it out. than reverce those steps when installing the new latch.

DL stands for Door Lock failure, if your door isnt closing all the way, check to make sure your hinges are lining up and that one of the arms has not broken off on the door, there should be 2 arms going into the door lock. whats common on these is that the door latch has trouble unlocking so it is forced open and now the door latch mechinism is stuck in the locked position and cant re-open. problems with this lock opening and closing- 9 times out of ten, come from a main computer failure to send power to the door lock. this can be temporairily fixed by re-seating the door latch wire harness in the main computer, but its usually recommended to buy a new computer since this problem has been address on the new series of computer. there is no recall on this board at the moment. estimated cost $250-$400

Check the following if you have problem with your doors:

1)The latch on many dishwashers is adjustable. If your door is easy to close but difficult to latch, adjust the latch to let the door close more easily. If you can't see any way to adjust the latch, yours may be fixed in a certain position. Check for other reasons for the latching problem.
If the latch has worn out in a way that makes it impossible for you to close the door properly, you probably need to replace the latch.


2)Your dishwasher has two springs that counterbalance the weight of the door. If either or both of these are broken, the door feels quite heavy and you need to replace both springs.


3)The hinges are important to the door closing properly. If they're bent or deformed, you probably need to replace them. Once bent, only rarely can they be straightened well enough.


4)If your dishwasher is new or if you have just replaced a door seal the door may be difficult to latch for a week or two. If the tightness persists, though, try adjusting the latch, if it's adjustable. If it's not adjustable, there's probably nothing you can do immediately. But try running the dishwasher on the highest heat cycle to help the seal conform to the door. Otherwise, the seal should compress over time.

easy fix open the door take a screw drive and slighty pry the latch on the door back while pulling up on the door handle magic you can lock ya truck now.

possibly an issue with the door lock/latch macha nism. not recognizing the door being closed.not an easy one to trouble shoot this way but id look into the a few basics, is the door closing fully? is the catch /latch assy on the door intact??? and lastly appox 3 inches up on the unit itself above where the door lock hole is, theres supposed to be a small black "buttin" for lack of better term. that "button needs to be depressed by door when closed, if for some reason its broken off so you cant push it in, (p roblably sticks out a quarter inch or so) if thats not there youll need to replace the atch assy

Is there a dl code? If not note the door striker position as the door closes. If you have to push it shut you need a door lock and if the striker is hitting below the latch too much a hinge will fix it. Finally look for a black pin above the striker for any damage as the latch will need to be replaced if broken too. Because with this and a door hanging low will not close the circuit and the ccu will believe the door is open also.
