Those computers are notorious for the power supplies going bad...I would bet money thats where your trouble is....replace it with a good quality power supply (between $60-$100).

Usually, the power switch is near where the power chord is connected to the machine or right lower, or left lower side. Good luck.

It sounds like it might be seized up. Pull the spark plug out and see if you can pull the cord that way.
Let me know what you find. How old is your machine?

Hp c5280 wont switch on, its been working well when last used this morning.

Disconnect the power chord from the back of the printer. Wait for 40 seconds and connect it back and check if it is warming up or not. If not the press power key for few seconds and see if it turns on or not.

If not then check if the adapter is getting warm or not after it is connected to wall outlet.
If adapter is warming up then try another power chord and check..

If both power supply are getting warmer then problem is with printer hardware and if printer works with another power chord then replace the damaged power chord

Printer keeps turning its self off after power surge 5 days ago HP2727NFS

perform a POWER DRAIN.

Steps to perform a power drain.
1. Switch off the printer and remove the power chord from the wall jack.
2. Remove the power chord, USB and any other wire attached to the printer.
3.Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds and then release it.
4. Attach all the chords and try printing.

I think that will work.

Dell all in one 942 ink jet printer reads "clear paper jam" there is no paper stuck. How do I fix?

Try this; Remove the cartridges, disconnect the usb cable, turn off the machine, unplug the power chord and switch off the adaptor from the wall switch, leave the machine for few minutes while you do some cleaning, like cartridges contact points, clean the rear panel door, also open the front panel door and check for any foreign particles, you should remember that even a small/tiny piece of thread or hair can create this problem. Now connect the power chord, switch on the wall switch, and power on the printer without the cartridges installed and the usb cable connected. Use the Power Button the switch on the printer. Leave it Switched On for few minutes and again turn it off, install the cartridges, connect the usb cable and again reboot the unit. Press the power button once and again keep pressing when it starts booting. If the problem still persists, your printer needs service.
Good luck.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Power doesn't work!

Disconnect, re-connect. If there is power at the outlet and the machine does not have any power, you may need a new power cord.

Or, it could be the switch is broken (internally).

Have the machine checked by a sewing machine service person.

I HAVE A LAPTOP ACER AND THE POWER DOES NOT TURN ON

It could be a battery problem. Try switching to AC mode by plugging in to an AC outlet using your Acer power chord (battery charger also). If the charger led don't light, it means it's defective and it can't charge your battery. Please try another power chord or battery charger then. Just remember to take out your battery when using your laptop in AC mode to lengthen your battery life. Regards!
