Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: lens cover not open and blank screen

the problem of your camera is the ccd image sensor...better go to the sony service center for replacing the image sensor..i know it is free for replacing that sensor cause that is one of the model that sony recall produc and the cover not open error message is a poor contact of the lens cover switch...

Screen has a giant blue line through the center and can only barely see about 1/6 out of the screen

When you can make pictures, and view them on a computer and not on the camera screen, nothing is wrong with the lens or the photo sensor. But I think something is wrong with the LCD screen. Cold be the screen itself, but also the connection to the screen or deeper in the camera. If you can't solve a camera problem, after removing the battery, and reinserting it after a few seconds, the mostly you should contact the service centre. Be aware that some repairs can cost more than a new camera of the same quality. So ask what it will cost first.

Black haze covering picture after "pop" noise

That's a very old model to be only 1 year old?

It needs a Z-Sustain PCB anyway.

Thanks.

Camera stopped taking pictures.

well, I followed some other advice for another's problem. The suggestion was that the display button had been accidentally pushed. This was right on! I kind of thought it was something like that. I was asking my wife and kids if anybody had pushed any buttons. Never happened before. Kind of embarrassing, but the computer makes these cameras so complicated. My old eyes can barely see all the logos on that little screen. Thanks for being there, guys!
